Really a poor management by the heads or government.
There are things to be consider
But neglect.
Huge land area. If farmers cannot handle better to give poor people surrounding to farm.

while coming back from kataragama, stopped here to have a treat of curd and treacle. The curd was offered in nature friendly clay cups and the taste was not quite catchy. Fresh milk and Yogurt also available here.
Must mention that this is a cool place to have a small chat!

Poor service. Bought a fresh milk and they give a sugar bag with it. However they said they don't provide at least a disposable or recyclable spoon to stir the sugar with milk.

Weerawila Farm

The Weerawila Farm was established in the year 1943 and was initially managed by the Department of Agriculture. During 1978 it was handed over to the Department of Animal production and Health. The farm was handed over to the NLDB consequently to a policy decision during 1992. At the time of taking over of this farm it was not making profits and was in a neglected state and the pasture fields were reverting back to jungle.After the takeover of this farm the buildings were repaired and unproductive cattle and buffaloes in the farm were disposed and a definite program was drawn up for the development of this farm.
New Goat sheds were constructed along with a poultry unit to produce eggs and broilers. Further, a cashew plantation was also commenced at Mahapallessa Division.
Presently, the Farm has buffalo unit, Dairy product processing unit, feed mill, 300 ac of rain fed fodder cultivation, 30 ac of coconut cultivation, 20 ac of fodder cultivation, sales center and Circuit Bungalow.
