This is the cheapest place to buy books. Better to call and find out the availability of books.

A Very negative staff. All Staff are hiding behind an opaque polithene screen and are always chattering
No intention of helping the customers. When you ask the cashier she asks another and the other ask the errand boy who stacks the books on shelves.
Shelves are not properly labeled so one has to go up and down to locate the place. With such difficulty when I found the book I wanted and it only had part 2. Part 1 wad OS. When can I get it ?I asked. Cant saythe lethargic reply came.
No help desk. You will find so many staff loitering near the exit doing next to nothing.
But none inside, like in the private book shops.
The other interesting practice is they open at 10.00 am and closes at 3 pm.
Just imagine the lethargic approach. To reach the place after work I was never able to do so because of the heavy traffic I have evade to reach the place
There should be outlets in every major town.
Over all it is a poorly run government shop.

Well its almost compulsory for you to go there if your child is following local syllabus in a private school as this is where government school textbooks are sold. Ofcourse the children attending government schools get the books delivered to the schools for free.
The bookshop is fine. Limited spaces especially if you want go buy the books before the new school year. My advice go there at the end of second term and buy the books for the coming year and avoid the crowds.

Situated inside the isurupaya educational ministry building. During the day time this shop usually gets busy. But the young men who are working in the store will help you definitely. Please note that they are closing their shop on 3pm.

Space is not enough at peak time, specially in beginning of the year after starting new classes in the government and private schools. Specially parents of private schools are facing very bad experience at that period. They not not burden to government and even VAT also paid with school fees. Therefore, Education Ministry need to provide acceptable service in the Book shop to purchase books without wasting time and money. Very big queue at peak periods. Hence responsible people need to give there serious attention regrading this.

This is one of official outlets of the Department of Educational Publications. You can buy school text book for all grades on three languages. Apart from text books it also sells the additional recommended reading materials for the students.

During the December vacation this bookshop will be very busy. There is a large car park.
