Let's visit there to learn true buddhism,
I went there for a very short visit. But I had a long conversation with the chief incumbent Buddhist monk who has a passion and true understanding of Buddhist philosophy. Ven Navalapitiye Ariyawansha thero has a great understanding of what Lord buddha expected from the society.
I suggest intellectuals to rally around and create a dialogue with the temple and with the monks who are very open for collective approach to spead a philosophy that can provide solutions for many problems we are facing today.
This is definitely a place to learn, a tranquil location adjacent to the Sinharaja forest with a wonderful scenary, that calms your mind and sole.
It is not recommended to travel to the temple in wee hours or late evening due to the elephants hovering in the area.
The access road is very tough and 4×4 is a must.response / report this review -

The most sacred place where the original script of The Buddha is practiced. Everyone should visit this beautiful place on the Sinharaja forest reserve border. Highly recommended.
