Recommend if you want to try living in a traditional house. The host is friendly. You can use the kitchen as well.

My stay in Lotus Lodge was a wonderful first experience of Sri Lanka. Jonathan, the host, is very attentive, has a lot of logistical information about moving around Jaffna and Sri Lanka in general, and is always striving to make your stay there as good as possible! The accommodation is basic, but clean and very comfortable, definitely recommend staying there!

Place was wonderful. Quiet, pleasant, clean, a lot of space. There is a big garden behind the house. Owner is a very pleasant guy, very helpful and friendly. Great plac to stay! Loved it very much.

great, authentic hostel!! I've stayed there in December and had a great time. Beautiful, old house and the host Johnathan did everything he could to give me a pleasant stay. he is also very helpful if you need any support and information!

If you are looking for a nice place where to stay in Jaffna, "Lotus Lodge Hostel" is the right place. The hostel is close to famous sightseeing , the owner is a friendly and knowledgeable person, who will share with you with stories about Sri Lanka and give you a good advice what is better to visit. Here you have a chance to meet with interesting people from different countries, to rent a bike to see the city and you can also cook. In this place I've felt that I have been spending time with close friends of mine, because of warm atmosphere. And have can't I forget not to mention that at "Lotus Lodge Hostel" you will have an opportunity to have a dinner under the shining stars above you :)

Lovely youth hostel in a chilled environment, was able to meet other travelers too. Would highly recommend for young travelers
