Very beautiful resort in the forest, the views from the dining area and from the infinity pool area are incredible. We stayed in a really well-thought hut without walls, just multiple sets of curtains to take down at night and wrap up in the morning - it really felt like being in the middle of uncontaminated nature, with lots of animal and bird noises around you, really special.
The staff is very good and attentive, we had fresh scented flowers on arrival and departure, and the chef gave us sandwiches when we had to leave too early for breakfast.
The food was great - among the best we had in Sri Lanka. The whole team definitively cares about the project and communicates well the ecological spirit of it. There is no plastic in the premises, drinkble water is provided in reusable glass bottles and even the straws for cocktails are reusuable and made of metal.
The location is 1/1.5h from Ella, with some of the road being a forest road where you have to drive very slowly. This makes it not ideal as a base to start early morning hikes around Ella (like Ella rock or little Adam’s peak). However, the resort is very close to the Dyaluma waterfalls and also has its own short hike to a waterfall.
A truly amazing hotel! We were so lucky to find this hidden gem! We were very well looked after with faultless service. The walk down to the waterfall was one of my favourite memories of Sri Lanka; with breathtaking scenery! Thank you for a wonderful night and I only wish it could have been for longer!
Stunning location. Genuinely eco friendly place. There is no glass anywhere i think, which means you live with mosquitoes and leeches, but there are not many, and it It's worth it to be so close to nature. There are two good walks. One to a waterfall inside the grounds, through rain forest and with pools you can swim in. The other longer walk is through the nearby village, not wealthy but really friendly, and past Diyaluma waterfall, which is one of the best in Sri Lanka.
Absolutely fantastic, high end residence in 80 hectares of jungle and pepper plantation. Fantastic welcome and food, pool with stunning view and only 3 suites and 3 bungalow rooms.
Fantastic hotel to stay in.
The location is splendid, with mountains and waterfalls surounding the property.
The suites are located in two bungalows overlooking the estate. Rays of light penetrate the room in the morning, and the infinity pool gives you a wonderful view of the neighboring hills.
Food is good, especially breakfast with plenty of fresh fruits, smoothies, local tea and Sri Lankan omelette.
Dinner is preceded by cocktails.
The park include a waterfall you can hike to in 20 minutes.
The staff is extremely efficient, caring, and thoughtful.
A fantastic place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Sri Lanka
Outstanding beauty!
This place was beyond our expectations. Loved every minute of it. So peaceful and quiet, a wonderful place to recharge the batteries. Staff are excellent and couldnt do more to help. Food is fab also. Probably the nicest place I've ever stayed.
Probably our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka, the photos don't do it justice. The infinity pool is out amazing. The staff are fantastic. If you stay here you must take the short walk to the waterfall it's beautiful and you'll probably have it all to yourselves.
This is a jewel. Great job Lucy! I've stayed in 5☆ hotels .. this gets way more!
Living Heritage Koslanda is a stunning boutique hotel set in Sri Lanka's hill country, close to Haputale. I visited on my way from Colombo to Arugam Bay. Rather than a hotel, you feel as if you are staying in a luxurious home. The buildings, ranging from the suites with their own interior courtyards, to the ambalama where you enjoy evening cocktails, are beautifully designed in a traditional Sri Lankan style, using natural materials. The property is set within 80 acres of jungle, which gives a wonderful sense of serenity. I was impressed with the details from the flowers left on my bed, to the freshly made hoppers at breakfast, as well as the guided waterfall walk. This is a very special place, and I will definitely be returning during my next Sri Lanka holiday.
Outstanding hotel with breathtaking surroundings.
Some of the best food we experienced during our trip and the choice between swimming in an infinity pool or waterfall!? What's not to love.
Living Heritage Koslanda is my favourite place in Sri Lanka. I am a lover of serene and peace and most of all nature and LHK comes with all that and more....the luxury of being one with nature in a 5 star environment. There are many walks to do around the hotel and you can also do some easy canyoning which is just amazing! The staff are always very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay an unforgettable one! Food is excellent and I just love their cheesecake....writing this review is already making my mouth water! The rice and curry is out of this world too. So all in all I will recommend LHK to anyone who is looking to enjoy a quiet, but luxurious holiday nestled among mother nature.
Stunning location, superb staff for whom nothing is too much effort - perfect to rent as an exclusive villa, but it would be equally charming to stay here as a couple in their romantic suites, or as a family with children, because the property is so open and so safe and so much room for kids to roam and feel free. For couples, with 80 acres of land, it's impossible not to find a quite, secluded corner to escape to.
Don't miss the walk to their private waterfall for a swim, it's impossible not to spend time by the gorgeous infinity pool, and for anyone who loves the thought of staying in an eco hotel, this has all the right elements - Really a superb boutique resort in the most stunning area in Sri Lanka.
Excellent location: secluded, extremely picturesque, staff is faultless (manager extremely friendly).
Food was amazing and they tailor it as you request it, they really go out of their way to accommodate their guests.
The villas are a delight and extremely spacious, and it was very nice to sleep with all windows open at night and feel safe.
The way there was a bit bumpy as the area suffers from landslides so road is uneven, but the location is perfect to visit tea plantations or simply get away from it all and relax.
So we stayed here for one night begining of September, a magical location without a doubt and a great pool. BUT there was a skeleton crew , they cannot make cocktails and the food was extremly dissapointing . Also too many flies in the open air restaurant . but worst of all , we asked the manager if there was an issue with snakes coming into the villas and they assured me there has never been an incident before . I woke up in the morning to take a shower outside my room only to discover a white poisonous viper sitting in my shower tray.
Now i do understand this location is a little raw which gives it the boutique charm , but honesty is key and i think charging me $575.00 was just disgracefull.
