  Srilanka’s second highest mountain. It’s situated in horton plains. We travelled by train from Colombo to Ohiya. From the ohiya railway station hired a vehicle.
  
  Already we have got the permission from forest department for camping.
  
  Once reached there have to walk a lot to reach camping site.
  
  Once reached there wooow marvelous. Beautiful place. No one there. Isolated area. Toilet was there.
  
  We brought tent and cooking things ( small cooker, maggie noodles, sousergers ,half made rotti , nonstick pan and kettle .
  
  To be relax and peaceful can visit here. No phone courage as well.
  
  If we want to meet people or buy someone need to come back so when we enter camping site better to bring all.
  
  Drinking and smoking prohibited. They will check.
  
  We brought torch lights and knife for self defense from animals.
  
  Very very very cool weather and we done this trip in a very cheap way.
  
  Kirigalpotha hiking interesting. But it’s tooo high mountain. Took time. Bit dangerous. Foreigners used guides. We followed them, otherwise it’s difficult to find the path.
  
  Grate experience.

  One of the best hikes i ever had so far.it was 6km s trail to the peak from the horatanplains information center.This is the 2nd highest peak of the 🇱🇰. So it was a land mark of my life.On the journey there was a middle view point before reach the peak.It was wonderful. The peak of kirigalpotta has enough space for more than 30 people.Peak was well covered by grass and it was not a dangerous place like other mountain peaks.At the peak, we can see Agra Bopthra(4) thotupla(2) piduruthalagala (1) and the wind power stations of Ambewela farm clearly.

  The second tallest mountain in Sri Lanka is home to a grand hike. Located in the Nuwara Eliya District to the west of the Horton Plains, Kirigalpoththa is the highest summit in the country accessible by the general public. This is because the highest peak, Pidurutalagala, is home to a military base and is off-limits to the public.
  
  The hike is 12 km and is a fairly easy one. Starting at the Horton Plains National Park, the trek takes you through marshy lands, a tributary of the Belihul Oya and finally across a beautiful cloud forest. Throughout the hike you find yourself being exposed to this island's unique flora and fauna, Binara flower, horned chameleon and sometimes even leopards.
  
  Finally at the end of the hike you are greeted with a complete panoramic view, with no obstructions. The trek is an amazing experience and the view you get at the top is one you won't see anywhere else.

  Best hike I've ever gone in SL. Kirialpotta is the Second Highest mountain in SL. From the entry point of Hortan Plains there are 7km to the top of the mountain. Total hike takes around 6 hours. You have to go early morning to climb the mountain. A little footpath leads you to the top of the mountain,but sometimes it's not clear(better to have a guide).

  Nice hike the view from the top is breathtaking be awake of wildlife wear proper clothes and check the weather before the climb in the rainy season the trail is much harder to climb

  Best trip i ever had so far. Some hours for journey and little bit hard walk but it worth to do so. Wonderful view.
