Nice spice garden, but the tour was quite short. Some interesting facts, true. But is all about buying expensive products that they sell.

My review mirrors the others, I enjoyed learning about the healing properties of the different plants, but we left the place feeling pretty stupid to have spent such an obscene amount of money on products. The staff there are very friendly and very good salespeople - unfortunately we were duped into purchasing several products. I read these reviews after leaving the place and ended up going back later that same day to have most of the products refunded. I would need to see proof that the products work and read good reviews before spending that amount of money, and I didn't have time to do this, nor were we given any proof, only their word. They were very good about refunding the products, so I was very appreciative.

Visit, BUT DO NOT BUY!!! Go to Bowatte Ayurvedic Beheth Shalawa in Kandy. Prices are about 2/3 cheaper!!

If you insist to buy here - negotiate MASSIVE discount - as in the price you are paying minimum 20% of fee to your driver/ tourist fuide - they will collect without you knowing
If you are on your way to Kandy, you could swing by one of the herbal gardens on the way.
Allocate about 1 hour.
You will be greeted by the guide who will talk you through the spices They have whole lot you can imagine cocoa, tumeric, cinnamon, almonds and dazillion more.
It is a little nature show - showing you bits of the production This place is for tourists only. They obviously have much bigger production somewhere around where they won’t let you in so who knows what is going there.
I found it insightful to see some spices for the firsts time in my life (I mean the plants).
Free of charge (tip is obviously expected) and at the end you can spend A LOT $$ on the herbs/ spices That is IMHO a scam..
If you have a time - go through the garden, check the herbs And then say thank you and leave.response / report this review -

Overall experience was really nice. We went from India where spices are already very famous yet we found this place good. We even bought two products and it really was useful as per used.
But am trying to reorder a product now and found out how unprofessional they are. They don’t attend your calls or emails.Thats really bad. This is not at all how acceptable from such a good Ayurvedic place.response / report this review -

Date of visit- 4th September 2018
On our way to Kandy, our travel assistant took us to this Spice garden. The property is well maintained and lot of tourist buses stop at these plantations for quick tours.
A representative (most of them know different languages to converse with foreigners) showed us the property and explained the benefits of these herbs and spices. Its informative and generally at the end of the tour, neck/leg/hand massage is provided using these herbal oils. (We weren't offered though!)
There is a store inside the property which sells all spices, creams, lotions, herbs. Prices are steep and can be purchased outside as well.response / report this review -

Avoid this place. It's the tourist trap you would expect and the small tour of the garden (which is partially a tour of the car park) is not worth it for the hard sell at the end to buy the over priced products.

Interesting BUT .. As soon as you get in there everybody is waiting for a tip. And at The end they try to make you buy oils and lotions at the shop. Not great.

I wouldn't give it even ONE star. The lunch was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. This is the worst kind of a TOURIST TRAP. Overpriced. Stone cold.Inedible. The only reason we were here is because the tour operator gets a cut. At least these people should have the decency to justify the cut! DO NOT THINK OF LUNCH HERE.

Really cozy garden with many different spice and herbal plants. However the tour we got was very short and felt like it included maybe 20% of the plants they had. Our guide was pretty uninterested and it seemed almost as if he read from a script. After about 10 minutes of describing several miracle creams, he showed us what they offered for sale. Greedy place that only seems interested in selling their products and less about actually teaching.

A relatively nicer spice garden and walk than other one I've been to. They host many tourists and even tour buses. Their tiny show spice factory is quite nice although they lie to you about what is steam distillation. Products are very expensive. Charged at international prices without the international warranties of quality. You only find out the cost at the cashier. Nothing is published. The essential oils are expensive with no mention of the concentration and quality and very little disclosure of ingredients. They prey on ignorant tourist who just need to have a leg stretch and a toilet break. If you haven't seen tropical spice plants grown then it is quite an ok stop.

They plant the raw material and making products by themselves. During visiting, the guide gives useful information without any hard sell. I love the Coco tea with banana oil, it tastes really good. Other products are also good.

Total tourist hustle. The "guide" mumbled poor explanations of the trees/plants/bushes in poor English, very hurriedly herding us to the final platform where the #1hustle man gives his slick con-man presentation. Their aim is to get audience excited about the supposedly fantastic ayurvedic remedies. They give you a list without prices, and insist you order and they go fetch your selection from somewhere without you knowing.

This place is a total scam. The salesguy is super slick in showing all the various "products". None of them have any price until you reach the shop. He is pushing you to buy fast because dont want other groups to see the "discount" he is giving you. Obviously the products are useless, seems to be mostly colored cooking oil in some random bottles. The items are super expensive as well. Stay away from this place.

It was nice to find out how the spices are made and where it comes from. Bought few things there but feel very disapointed about it. Find out that I overpaid a lot and it is not working as I was told.

This spice village offers a guided tour through a big varieties of plants, oils, creams and "miraculously health unguents".🏺 In an hour and a half one of the guides will talk (probably in your language) about lots of plants in their garden and their different curative powers. 🌿 You can try a few of them because they have mostly a long term cure. Everything is natural. 💊❌
Then you'll receive a massage with creams created by plants grown there.💆
At the end of the tour you will be directed to the shop in order to buy some oil or cream. Remember to always check the prize of what you're buying because everything is expensive. 💸response / report this review -
