  Visited the tank when it was full and spilling in mid December 2015. The tour is courtesy of S. Shanmugananthan, Director of Irrigation - North. This is the largest tank in the northern province which supplies water for irrigation. Currently, there is a proposal to supply pipe borne water supply to Jaffna peninsula.
