It is a excellence place that every traveler should visit. The place it is situated is also awesome. Calm &chill place. The unlimited alcohol and the three pool make the ultimate level of giving happiness to the person who visit.

The hotel is nice, large and spacious rooms and three pools! Not all services were fully available due to COVID which is understandable, with the 50% discount. A small concert was organised for the whole hotel which was nice - have not seen this before. Unlimited booze! Food was okay, nothing beyond expectations. The signboards might need some proofreading - a few spelling/grammatical errors.

Excellent customer service! Great staff. Food is good, but not the best. Buffet is nice but could have done better. Pool area is nice and pool bar is also great. The evening variety show in weekends is phenomenal.
Room is average, than we expected for the all inclusive package. Beds are comfortable, clean bathrooms.
But they don't provide the dental kit which is disappointing. Very spacious parking area.
    Overall a nice expexperience!

This is a spacious hotel which seemingly has more than 300 rooms, 3 swimming pools and a number of bars and restaurants. Although they have the basics covered, everything in here had a "mass produced" feel to it, including drinks and desserts at the buffet. They continuously run "all inclusive" offers which gives unlimited liquor and snacks for free during your stay and seem to be focusing on quantity over quality. Staff appeared to be less trained compared to other similarly priced hotels too. All in all their all inclusive offers are value for money if you do go there with a group of friends.

Hotel staff was very help full. Rooms were tidy. Alcohol was served throughout the day due to a package we came across. Food was okay. Pools were good. Hot and cold jacuzzis were good but some of the pressure pumps wasn't working and the changing rooms doors were broken and cannot lock.
Stay was enjoyable. Good for a short period stay.

Superb hotel to go for a family vacation. Plenty of things to see & do. Kids have lot of areas to do activities & have fun. Hotel itself looks really appealing & staff is friendly. Rooms are quite specious & clean. Welcome greeting should improve & room amenities are limited. All inclusive package has plenty of things fulfill the taste buds.

One of the best buffet spreads I've seen and nice hotel. However the concept of the 24hrs all inclusive is the only attraction. Apart from that, when it comes to service aspect it really needs a lot of attention as they can't manage the crowd. And feel a bit restricted with too many rules (strict time for check in and check out / having to return the pool towels and collect tokens to return to the reception at checkout etc). Our rooms mini bar was not filled at least with some water despite many reminders. That's purely because the hotel staff give very much less attention for customer service. But everything covers up for the deal 'all inclusive'. All in all a hotel with an attractive deal but with very average customer service.

Oh my God!! What an experience this hotel brings to it's customers. It is my first visit to such a concept hotel which is all inclusive. Yes!!! You just have to pay for the room and everything else from food to alcohol is on the house, through the day.

It's a huge property with about 500 rooms, 3 pools, Asian, Italian and American restaurants, live performance area, a snack bar that's open till morning, a discotheque that plays music till 2:00am and a 24 hour coffee/alcohol bar and a beautiful spa and gym. All these facilities are free for everyone who checks into the hotel (except the spa).

The rooms are huge and gorgeous with a big bathroom, and a balcony that gives you the view of the pools and common area along with the beautiful beach which it overlooks.

The meals are an experience here with a lunch and dinner buffets serving close to 150 items on the menu every meal. What more do you want?

Overall a great experience, it's good to stay here with a big group of friends or family. You just don't have to go out for anything.

Don't have many pics of the property, but my description I guess sums up pretty much everything 😀

P.S. It takes a lot of time to check-in to this hotel, but I bet, it's worth the wait. Also don't miss the live performances in the evenings, it's worth watching.

Very beautiful hotel situated in heritage Ahunhalla.
    Very nice beach.
    Very comfortable hotel rooms.
    Night club and Spa.
Verity of foods in restaurant are very tasty.
    Everything is good.
But hotel waiters in the restaurant are not professional and don't know how to talk to their valuable guests.
Hotel management should train their staff how to treat and gain their valuable clients, not to loose them because of rude behaviours of restaurant waiters.

Victim of robbery in my own room! Avoid!
During my staying at RIU Sri Lanka, I noticed that the housekeepers are coming in the afternoon, I know maybe is a rotation but on my first week I saw them just in the afternoon.
Being aware of this fact, I have left the safe unlocked for 15 minuets to take breakfast around 8.45AM. When I came back, the housekeepers were almost finished to clean my room.
I went to check my safe and I was shocked to noticed that they have stolen 10.000 rupees ( £47 ) from the safe.
I went straight away to the host manager to report the problem and she said to give her some time to investigate. After two hours I went back to talk to her and she said that is nothing that she can do and if I want to go to the police, she will help me to do so!
I was shocked, I didn’t go to report this because I wanted my money back, I know is my word against housekeepers world!!! I went to report this because I didn’t feel safe anymore in their hotel!
They could still other things from my room, I can’t put everything in the safe?!
The host manager ( Carolina ) didn’t even try to do something regarding with this, to make us feel better, to try to find out what happened?!!
Is this something normal in their hotel? Why did they treat this big problem with so much lack of interest???

If you want to feel safe do not choose this hotel!

5 stars for a 5 star hotel. Extremely delicious food. And very, very spacious room. Bathroom was smaller than expected, but still large. The service was very good, and all the staff have a smile on their face. I had a very, very enjoyable stay.

I love this hotel! There is a variety of restaurants and activities! I love how there is an Asian, Italian, and American restaurant! There is also a HUGE buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with lots of fresh cuisine, salads, and great desserts. Many pools and a pool bar! A kids mini water park and a playroom! There is always a kids party in the evening where kids play and dance! There are many bars and cafes too. I really loved after hours a lot. It’s a small take and go place. It’s opens at 10PM and closes at 5 or 6am. You can get sandwiches, burgers, salads, fruits, drinks, etc. Microwave is available too. Rooms are very modern and clean. Lots of rooms have great views. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely come to this hotel! It’s amazing!

    The good:
As expected (due to how new the place is) the rooms & barthrooms are clean & well maintained.
Buffet has plenty of choices, and is absolutely huge.
If you are looking for a place to have all day party with your friends, this is the place.
There is some crowd entertainment offered in the open area near the pool at evenings.

    The bad:
Even though there are plenty of choices for food, I've had far better tasting food with far less choices.
The staff is borderline rude & looks\acts untrained.
If you are lucky the view from the room will be good - but there are rooms with absolutely horrible views.
Pool area is busy and sometimes full of drunk people.
This is absolutely not an place for families and/or relaxing.
Mini bar choices are limited (given mini bar is free & you can get something to eat by going to lobby/sandwich bars at practically anytime - i can't really fault them for it)

    Conclusion:
I would not return to this place again (specially with my family)

The most magnificent hotel I've ever stayed in and I have travelled. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the hotel is kept at such a high standard at all times. The food is beyond amazing and the hotel room was out of this world. My partner managed to upgrade us into 1 of only two penthouse type suites with a jaccuzi on the balcony overlooking the sea. Simply stunning and words do not give it justice. I will be choosing Riu over any other hotel in future.

Nice hotel with potential to improve further. The pool area is wide, well maintained and the adequately facilitated with a bar and in-pool seating facilities. The buffet is massive with a great range of items to choose from. Rooms are spacious, clean and equipped with all the required facilities. Overall, a nice place but the management should focus on improving below aspects.
    1. Hospitality of the staff
    2. Taste of certain food items
    3. Quality of cocktails
    4. Variety of alcohol beverages

This could be such a great place but it doesn't know what it is trying to be. It is five star but is not special it has a kids club but nothing special for parents. It has 5 restaurants but all are buffet an only one is open. It has a night club that blasts till at least 11pm that can be heard loud and clear from every room. It is all inclusive alcohol included, but wine is limited to white, red, rose or sparkling with no option to upgrade to a premium choice. Some may love this place but I won't be back.
