Chill open air restaurant with friendly positive vibes. They have a hostel too. Delicious food, obviously not a regular menu. A good place to hangout. Live music on Sundays

At first we were showed to our room and told there was no hot water, then minutes after we were told we had the wrong room and now we were blessed with hot water. The room was basic no mosquito net The bathroom was very damp with mould spots and there was a trail of ants walking through the bathroom to the bedroom door 😝

The redeeming factor is the bar with a good variety of food and drink with a relaxed area to chill out

I stayed here a few months ago for a few nights and everything was perfect. It is a chilled spot even though minutes from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. The bar area is great with hammocks and good wifi. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The staff were exceptional. I left my iPad there and Lanka helped get it back for me without ever complaining. Thank you so much!!! Highly recommend Hipsters.

The place hostel has a great arty atmosphere and most of the staff Ishtar but I want to warn anyone of the tourguide.
He was several times trying to hit on my underage sister ( who he was aware of being under 18 and having a boyfriend).
If you decide to do a tour with him keep in mind that his first price offer is a total RIP OFF ( what a surprise I know :). Normally, you pay around 5000 Rs for a day tour in Sri Lanka so don't pay him anymore.
He will also take you to a tea factory and a spice garden where you are expected to buy overpriced products which are especially in the case of the spice garden a SCAM. Naturally , he is earning a commission on everything you buy.
The icing on the cake was that when we did the tour he was almost two hours late :/
Summing up, I can recommend anyone to just enjoy beautiful Kandy on their own !!

We booked a room for 2 nights and booked a third one after a trekking, they confirmed our booking (don't book trekkings at hipsters, they charge you double). After the trekking a guy that works at the hostel told us we should go to a different hotel because it was full. When we wanted to see someone else to complain there were 2 rooms that we could choose from. The food from the restaurant is nothing special, no service. Will never come back.

I absolutely loved the place and atmosphere. Probably best hostel in Kandy! Really good vibes, friendly staff, clean rooms and an awesome chill out lounge with cocktails and amazing food! You don't even need to go anywhere. They even have yoga here and in-house tour arrangements. Must visit!

Love the ambient atmosphere here and the limited item menu offers the best of its' kind. Owner, friendly staff and the Hustler(This is a cute food recycler) who welcomes you would leave you with nothing but a cozy atmosphere.

This has so much potential, but because the dorm rooms are cheap, they try to heavily profit off the bar and restaurant. They charge 300rs to use the pool table! So add a 400rs breakfast (probably the slowest omelette in Sri Lanka, two days in a row) plus 10% service charge on food(AT A HOSTEL?!). The fact that you are not allowed to bring your own beverages or food to the lounge area (the owner told us to take our arrack elsewhere, meanwhile him and his friends were drinking their arrack and eating takeaway food, what?? We were told that tonight, because we were the only people, we could sit upstairs, but tomorrow we could only bring it to the dorm room) absolutely kills the hangout vibe. The music nights were awesome, and I understand that you cannot bring outside stuff then, but on other nights people are not buying 300rs small cans of lion just to hang out, so nobody is around. Dorm facilities weren't top notch either, our toilet was clogged for two days and the one in the kitchen couldn't flush

Nice and atmospheric accommodation. The outside rooms with shared bathroom are specious but it could be noisy since they are close to the bat.
