Food is not good and not tasty, even tea is not drinkable. Cleanness of room walls are poor. No elctrelect kettle in the room. Maintenance in the hospital seems poor. Hemas Thalawatugoda

The worst WORST WORST ever private hospital. The doctor consulted was one hour late and the staff didn't seem to bother about it. My mother who was in severe pain was lying here on a chair for an hour and when the doctor finally came, they turned down the request i made to take my mother's number (Which was 5) a little forward because it was too obvious that she was suffering. They didn't even make an effort instead asked to take her to the ETU. Extremely unhelpful and discourteous staff ever who are run only by rules not by human values. SHAME on this so called hospital.

P.s. my mother Waited for TWO HOURS in severe pain before being called to see the doctor.

Hemas Thalawathugoda - the most disorganised hospital staff ever!

Those telephone operators are clueless of the hospital procedures. Nobody is responsible once you question the reliability of the information given.
If you wait for the call they promised to give you once your CT scan report is ready, you'll be waiting forever!
Try calling the radiology unit and report counter if you want to listen to their promotional audio until you finally hang up.

This is not the first time we came across such unpleasant experiences though we didn't bother making a review until now!

Have had both pleasant and unpleasant encounters at this hospital and gladly it seems that they're improving their service. They've relocated the pharmacy downstairs to a much better place and a bit faster now. Well reputed doctors do come there never on time though.
Most of the issues come from the support staffs like those attendant ladies as they seem much unprofessional.
Cleanliness wise it's a better private hospital I've seen and yet the car park stinks by the way.

My wife Recently Delivered a Baby here and the specialist was Dr. Chandrika Yapa. I must say the Dr and all the other staff members were very nice to us. And the executive level facilities which I've selected were at it's best. The cost was lower than I thought. I would definitely recommend this place for baby deliveries.

Good hospital with modern facilities. 24 hor OPD, Emergency and pharmacy. All kind of medical services are available. A number of consultants available for channeling. Their pharmacy is very crowded in evening. Adequate parking space.

This is the only private hospital in this area with this capacity. Everything works well during non-rush hours. It become a total mess in the evening where plenty of channelings going on. There is a Vision care optical service point and a P&S cafeteria inside the premises. They got public phone chargers, NDB ATM and bill payment service as well.

Best private hospital on this side of town. The services and rooms are clean and as a patient you get a good service.
On a different note, the doctor channeling process takes longer and most specialists do not come on time. Very crowded between 5-8 pm. 24 hour emergency
My kids have stayed here many times and the only negative is it takes a very long time to discharge a patient.

Very poor service. Had to wait for almost 4 hours just to get the bill finalized. Will never come back to this place.
Better go to a government hospital rather than this place.

Very unpleasant the way they manage channelling service. They confirmed the time as per the number we got but never they could manage it every time I visited had to wait at least 2 hours more than the confirmed time. Hemas staff or management never take any action for this time wasted. At leat they could call the doctors to get confirmed whether he arriving late and accordingly Hemas can send a sms to patients by informing the delay. Hemas must understand that the people coming here are patients with several difficulties. The koke is by wasting more than 2_3 hours once I complain their staff they said what to do, we can not manage that. I think the top management of the Hemas hospital should take this seriously.

Good for channeling service, vaccination and laboratory testing. Don't try there emergency Treatment unit. if you insured they will do unnecessary tests. once ( in 2015) my sister admitted for a abdominal pain and (case was a stone in kidney.) they did primary tests and decided to do a CT scan. she was insured by company. I did call ETU doctor and ask for the reason why should we do that and they don't have a answer. at the moment they didn't got a opinion from a consultant who related on this case. Then I did contact a consultant nephrologist (from another hospital) and finally he gave just a pain killer and no problem for 3 years.

To recount on my horrible experience at Hemas Dental Unit Thalawathugoda
Do not visit The Hemas Dental Clinic

I had a fractured wisdom tooth that giving me pain. And so after channeling, I met with a dentist last Wednesday(1st of November 2017)
She informed me that my tooth needed "immediate extraction" and scheduled me for an extraction surgery at 4pm: 5days later(7th November 2017)
She also put me on a 5day course of antibiotics to prep for the surgery, and also needed x-rays.
The doctor and the staff also told me that the hospital would call me beforehand and keep me informed on the details of the extraction.

So I waited 5 days and was on my 5 days antibiotics course and received no details from the hospital whatsoever.
Therefore I called them at 12:30pm on the day of the surgery, and a very rude, uninterested and unfriendly operator tells me that the surgeon wont be coming in and that she has no clue and maybe next Monday I should channel and try again.

Obviously we completely erased Hemas off our list, and went to another dentist immediately who without further delay took the necessary measures to my medical issue. He was also rather surprised as to why x-rays were even required in the first place since it was obvious the tooth needed to be removed due to fracture.

    Really Hemas?
Forget the pain, forget the inconvenience, forget the rip off, but to put a person on medication for no reason? I assume if I had re-channeled you'd have put me on yet another course of medication.
Where are your standards and proficiency that you advertise so bluntly?

Extremely disappointed and not at all interested in ranting any longer.
Just needed to say that I will never recommend Hemas to anyone else and I will make sure to pass this story to everyone i know.

The good- had Dr Indika Ramanayake perform a hemorrhoidectomy on me, the doctor, the anaesthesian (Dr Prageeth), the nurses and theatre staff were all well versed in what they did and were extremely professional, which made for a very good experience (even in the follow up visits). Hats off to you guys!

The bad- support staff, from car park attendants (who tried to make me park out of the hospital in a nearby cafe's premises on the day of surgery - asking them if this is how they treat paying patients did the trick), the young fellow manning the admissions desk (who repeatedly kept mixing up my name and ultimately sent me off to the ward with a file of another patient), and billing department (thanks to whom I had to spend approximately 2 extra hours while they sorted things out) made it a bit unpleasant and cumbersome. (Maybe they need more empathy, as people visiting a hospital are often in pain, and testing the temper of someone who is in pain has potential to go very wrong very fast)

But ultimately, I'm happy with Hemas in its core service. Just a little work on the minor things and you will easily be one of the best hospitals in this area.

Went for an appointment and when I visit the premises the medical officer was unavailable. Called 4 times to make sure that they are available but finally had to go home with frustration . The front office was insane and don't know even how to talk to a customer and admit that they have made a huge mistake.

If you love yourself and your family,do not ever go to this hospital . I have heard many instances that they issue wrong medical reports too.

Well quality service is provided for patients, how ever the price is a bit over the top. Compared to the assurance and quality I'd recommend it is worth the cost.

one of worst hospital i have seen next to Nevil Fernando Hospital. Most of time you have to wait 15 min or more to get connected with their customer care call center. and Customer care staff is not well manners too. a really bad service. i have complained them 2 times about my experience and no action taken yet. so this comment will fly against their bad service.

I was extremely disappointed in the female doctor in the ER. She was very belittling, letting her nurses know how I did something she deemed inappropriate. Further, the nurses and staff followed her example in the ridiculing comments and stares. She was very rude when I refused to admit my daughter after she had looked at her for a total of 2 minutes. No blood work had been done. No history taken. Completely and utter failure to properly care for my daughter or treat us as patient and family member. Have been there other times and have had pleasant, quality help. This doctor, however, was anything but. If you go in the ER and see a middle aged female doctor, rather tallRUN other way.
