Amazing experience. Our initial tour guide was meh, and mostly in a hurry to get us to the point where we can buy tea (didn't really answer the groups questions and just kept referring us to the tea list, even if that's not what was being asked), but luckily we went back to the factory to take some pictures (as he didn't give us a chance the first time around). There, this amazing young man called Imish (I hope I got the name right) offered us to take us around again and we could finally understand the magic behind tea production. This kid has a passion for his work and truly got us wrapped in whole behind the scenes. He has a bright future!

Great day out plus it's free! Our guide was very knowledgeable. You get a free tea sampling. Also the plantation grows several other crops including Cinnamon, pepper, pineapple. Only downside may be the washrooms..

Not for everybody but I really enjoyed the visit. Good knowledge and great tea. I spent £30 on tea from the gift shop it was so nice, more so as they let you taste the 40 odd different types.

Nice free tour of a tea plantation (although not of the picking itself). Guides are interesting and talk about the tea, especially the white virgin tea) as well as other spices and plants. Cup of tea and a cake then a look around a packaging plant and a chance to sample a huge variety of teas. There is an opportunity to buy many of the products and a tip box though there is no pressure sell. Great place.

Hnadunugoda is the best low country tea tour one cold have in a tea estate, factory and tea tasting facility.
Extremely tourist friendly place and most importantly its the only one in Sri lanka and one of few factories that produced white Tea which is very expensive and completely human untouched manufacturing process. it also produce various oolong tea products.

Lovely FREE tour of the tea estate, including a cup of tea and a cake, as well as some tea tasting. The guide told us about tea growing as well as other local plants such as rubber, papaya, coffee, pepper etc.
Although there is a chance to buy some tea and other gifts at the shop at the end, we were amazed to find that this was a zero pressure sales environment. We were left to our own devices in the shop (which was slightly out of our budget as students), so ended up just leaving a small donation - which no one asked for or even saw!
Would definitely recommend popping in here to check the place out.

Wonderful tea orchard and tea making facility but their biggest draw is the virgin white tea. Make sure to bring home some! The free tasting of their more than 40 varieties of tea is an enriching experience especially for tea lovers.
