There are three major paths to reach the Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat area. When you travel from Colombo to Badulla, you will find a place called “Marangahawela” about 170km away from Colombo.”Marangahawela” is a place to enter to the Haldummulla Division. When you travel from Badulla to Colombo, there is a place called “Uda Vihara gala” 39km away from Badulla. When you travel from Wellawaya(Monaragala District) Beragala – Bandarawela road there is a place called “Ice Peella” 4km away from wellawaya. “Uda Vihara gala” and “Ice Peella” are the entrance to Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat area as well. Considering the physical featuresof the area, the majority of the area has an altitude of 305m – 914m (1000 – 3000ft).The annual rainfall of the area is between 2000mm -2500mm and the mean temperature of the area isbetween 200C– 260C. The main economic crop is paddy and some export crops such as pepper, rubber, cocoa and cinnamon are the main living crafts of the people of this area. There are 39 Grama Niladhari divisions in this divisional secretariat area and the total population is about 42267. The total number of families is approximately 11090.
