  It's a modern giant Buddha and a museum. Hard to miss it from the road and you will likely visit it before/after the caves

  On the way to Sigiriya, this can be a good stop over. Two things to be done here.
  1. Golden Temple
  2. Dambulla Cave Temple (5 diff caves)
  
  Ticket Cost for Dambulla Cave Temple LKR 1500/- pp.
  Be in decent clothes for both Male and Females. Shoulders and Knees should be covered. You have to keep save your shoes outside, charges LKR 25/- per pair.
  The hike is quite difficuilt but doable, views are awesome from the top and in between. You can start from one side and get down from the other side. Best is to start from the ticket counter of Cave Temple and get down from the other side visiting Golden Temple. Be aware of Monkeys outside.
  
  Spare minimum of 2 hours for this activity.

  Awesome place!! It is 100% mandatory to see the largest buddha (30 m) in Dhamma Chakka position.

  Ein super Besuch,man kann fünf Höhlentempel,die verschieden gestaltet wurden,besichtigen.
  Höhle 1 wird von einem 14 m langen,aus dem Fels der Höhle herausgeschlagen Buddha bestimmt.Er wurde mit echtem Blattgold verziert.
  Höhle zwei ,fast 50 m lang und 7 m hoch ,mit vielen verschiedenen Buddhafiguren.
  Schöne Wandmalereien und eine Unzahl an Figuren sind zu bestaunen.

  Good Day in The Golden Temple
  We had a good day in the temple. From the heights of a beautiful view of the forest cover. I recommend not to climb the mountain in shorts, and then forced to cuddle towel, as the entrance to the temple is forbidden to open legs to the knee.
