My parents and me have visited this lovely place during our holidays in Ahungalla. We have been overwhelmed by the range of natural possibilities that have been offered and we never knew before. The guide showed us the garden, picked a small piece of a fruit, a leave to rub between fingers or a small bark of a tree to smell, feel and taste how much natural energy is available. They offered a variety of natural, organic products. We took the toothpaste powder, hair oils, two cremes, one with aloe and another one that is giving your face a bright and sunny glowtook some spices too. We are really happy and thankful for the natural recommendations for products. We will definitely visit you again next time in beautiful Sri Lanka.

Very interesting and nice place. Many friendly people around. Garden is well mentioned. You can see there many unusual plants and spices. They can explain everything in your language. In the shop you can buy medicines and cosmetics with labels and descriptions which is uncommon in other Spice Gardens. Prices are same like in other places like that but quality of the products is much better. Confirmed results after using them from many people that I know.

Lots of plants and spices that I've seen growing for the first time in my life. Ania's guide was very interesting about each of them and their properties. She knew the answer to every question. It made an impression on me. You can see that it is not just a job for her. He knows natural medicine which everyone uses in Sri Lanka. Generally, the garden is well-kept and clean. At the end, as in all the gardens in Sri Lanka, there is a store where you can buy extracts and spices. The products we bought were not cheap but good quality and can also be ordered with shipping worldwide. I recommend and certainly come back here. :)

This place is a tourist rip-off! Just go to the local Ayurvedic dispensary and you get all that stuff for a fraction of the price!

Interesting place. If you have an opportunity then ask Asya to be your guide. But don't fall for the staff they sell, except for aloe Vera cram. It's really nice for the skin.

A store masked in a spice garden, done for „white monkeys” and their full pockets: I regret to say, is a scam not a spice and herbal garden! Arogant staff, following only the sale, little space, to few plants: keep distance!

SCAM! They sell hair removal cream that is Nair/Veet (highly toxic chemicals that can burn the skin and shouldnt be used on the face). You can buy this at a drug store 99% cheaper. The aloe cream smelled like plastic and the cheapest cream from a pharmacy that you can buy. God knows whats in everything else! I confronted them on this and they admitted they are scamming. Their sales pitch is super aggressive and I would avoid the place especially for that. After spending a bit of time in Sri Lanka all these spice gardens seem to be overpriced, poor quality (or fake) and offering miracle cures that are dubious. It is a pity but it is necessary to avoid.

Don't believe any good reviews. It's true that there are plenty of plants and a short lecture on how they're used in ayurvedic treatments. Nevertheless they just try to rip you off.
After the tour me and another tourist sat down and some of this suspicious "doctors" students started rubbing our back and asked to open the shirt. When I refused to they guaranteed it is for free but they requested money anyways.
Of course we were obliged to see the store where the owner (aka the "doctor") made up prices on the fly as there were no price tags.
Prices as already stated in other reviews are totally exaggerated.
If you want to see and learn about plants used in Ayurveda - go somewhere else.response / report this review -

Nice place to see some unusual for Europe plants. We've seen about 15 different species. Very detailed explanation of each specie and it's medical properties. You can buy some useful stuff there, like oils or creams or not. Very nice guide, she wasn't pushing us to buy anything, and she really knows what she is talking about. One of the best excursion I've had. Way better than garden near Kandy.
