  Ganegoda Purana Rajamaha Viharaya is a Buddhist shrine of archeological value located on the Avittawa road in Elpitiya. The stupa in this temple is said to have been built during the reign of King Gotabhaya.
  It also features beautiful sculptures and murals. On Poya days and holidays it is quite crowded and there is some space for parking.
  Ganegoda Rajamaha Wihara is a sacred historical Buddhist temple situated at the Elpitiya Avittawa road. The Stupa is known to be made in the era of King Gotabhaya. This place has numerous paintings and sculpture. This place is bit crowded in full moon poya days and other holidays. Have car parking space.

  The ancient temple in elpitiya area. Many buddhists gather to worship here. the life story of the buddha depicts as paintings in the shrine room.
