Galoya Junction railway station - Galoya Junction
Galoya Junction railway station is a railway station in the North Central Province Sri Lanka. Owned by Sri Lanka Railways. station is part of the Batticaloa Line which links Polonnaruwa District. In the Kotuwa station the train pass the Ragama station, Polgahawela station, Kuruneegala station, Mahawa junction Station, Galoya junction station. At the Galoya junction station train divide two roads. One road is Trincomalee and another is Batticaloa.

This is the station and railway junction. Divided into Trincomalee and Batticaloa way. It has separate rest rooms for males and females including toilet and wash rooms. 24 hours opened canteen is available. This has the connection train compartment to Trincomalee for the passengers those who are coming in Batticaloa train.

Simple railway station with toilets and non-drinkable water.
No shop on the station, but very close (300m) on the main road is shop with all needed (including Ice cream).
If you have to wait for more hours you can visit small temple on the main road (it is not on the map, but you cannot miss it).

It is one of the main junctions in eastern Railway.
Trincomalee line and Batticaloa line seperates here.
Passengers are requred to carefully change the trains according to their destinantion.
Usually Trinco passengers have to get on board of another train while train from Colombo travels directly to Batticaloa through Polonnaruwa.

The Udaya devi train coming from Maho junction will stop here for a time. People who intend to go to Trincomalee should get down from here and board into a another small train (hauled by M2 diesel locomotive) with around 3 to 4 carriages.

Others who have purchased tickets to go to Habarana, Polonnaruwa and Batticaloa should remain in the same train as it will continue the track to its destination until Batticaloa.
