Good views. Pretty Crowded in the evening. Though the authorities try to maintain cleanliness there can be seen a lot of waste in the middle. There is only a small patch of shore available to get down. U can see a lot of picnic and school gangs for sight seeing. If u r planning to relax down on the beach this is not the right spot

Very beautiful place for casual evening time. Specially after 5 pm. Sunset is beautiful, public seats are also there so you can sit and watch the beautiful sunset and enjoy the cool breeze. It's very near from Fort area, takes only half am hour by walk.

I don't understand the appeal of Galle Face Green. The place is dirty with litter all over the place. The strip if sand is just that; a strip. The benches lining the Galle Face Green is ALWAYS lined with couples covering themselves with just an umbrella. It's hard to take kids here during any time of the day, because the questions that follow are quite hard to answer (if you know what I mean).
The only saving grace is the food stalls that serve the best street food in town. The Isso Wade (a flat patty made with lentils and topped with prawns) here is the best ever.

Sweltering heat during the day. Perfect for a walk or run at sun down. Flamboyant and plenty of street food carts (don't bank on hygiene). Nice relaxing place long as the sun is down.

    Whats good

The sea face is huge and well designed to manage big crowd. There are stalls and ground but all to ensure dispersed crowd.

    Whats not good

The access road is almost always under heavy traffic which means constant blaring of horns.

    What to do

Go at sunset. Sit and relax. Enjoy snacks sold at the stalls. Take a few pictures.

A beautiful landmark place of Colombo city to just hang out and watch all the activities around you! It’s never dull here. Even though this place gets crowded you still can have your own privacy and be in your own little world as the world around you just passes by at this
Busy place! Good place for children as well as there is enough and more activities to keep them occupied from flying kites to various forms of entertainment! When here having food at the famous nanas food stall is a definite must! Advisable to go just before sunset as it’s really cool and relaxing then.

There are not many sights in Colombo.
The Galle Face Green offers a good opportunity to meet local people and enjouy the seaside.
The Galle Face Green is a long corso with sand, some green and stalls. There also is a narrow beach below the walk.
The corso is tucked under busy road a and newly built high-rise buildings. It nevertheless is a real place. There are plenty of benches with loving couples. Children play on the sand. Buses come and offload local parties of tourists. A huge Sri Lankan flag governs overlooks it all.
Nice place to spend a day in Colombo.

Good place to walk around and to spend the leisure time particularly in the evening. Many street food joints are there to try.

One of the best places to kill time while enjoying some sea breeze. Many street food joints, caution it may be spicy for some people. Best visited at the sun down. Try to avoid weekends it gets so crowded

Great vibe and atmosphere, a nice place to walk around on the beach with street food. The street food is mostly the same from station to station though. More people during the day time than at night
