This hotel is in a perfect location to explore galle fort. The hotel is in a historic building, so you get a real sense of colonial galle.

For starters we had the vegetarian samosas and the king prawns with mango/Chilli neither were that great prawns quite small and Chilli just sweet Chilli sauce and the samosas were more deep fry than bursting with filling. However the mains were amazing!!! Sesame encrusted tuna w/ a tangy salad Japanese style and pan seared tuna with pumpkin mash. I recommend getting 3 mains between 2 people because these two dishes were perfectly cooked and fresh, a real treat for us after month long curry diet. All up with 4 large beers we paid about SR8500.

Nice and relaxing ambiancefood is OK but quite slow to serve to the table. Maybe it's already the best in Galle.my husband asked for a passion fruit juice without ice as he was a bit ill They made it wrong and the water at the bar was trying just to take out the ice 'unfortunately', he splashed it all out so had to make a new one We would give it 5 stars if we didn't see this happening Overall a nice place to have causal dinner

Ambience is pretty. Service is fine. Food wasn't really the best and its was very average. Its a pity that the owners have done a wonderful job putting a lovely resturant and not much consideration given to the heart of it.

A great place to relax with a few beers it has a lovely atmosphere. I've not eaten here but what I saw being served up looked pretty appetising too.

As guests of "Middle st" at Fortaleza, we had a couple of meals here that were quite good.
There is not a lot of selection but it's usually the sign of freshly prepared meals so it's OK however, we found it hard to make a choice as there was always something that we disliked in the suggestions.
They try to offer a mix of western and local cuisine but the choice of ingredients are sometimes questionable
For one dinner, as we were starving and were having the hardest time deciding what to eat, we asked if the chef could make us something simple but with just ingredients we liked. He came to our table and managed to make a delicious personalized meal just for us!!!
