  Long years back this was a very important mode of transport from Trincomalee to Mature. After the main bridge was built and the roadways were properly constructed, the importance of the ferry service became less.

  Once it was a busiest place as it is the main point of ferry/ship transport between Trincomalee and Muthur.
  
  After Muthur connected with Trincomalee via direct road, nowadays it's being as a calm place without much public presence..!
