Amazing location. You see the whole view of Ella gap and Ella rock while having your delicious breakfast and fresh coffee and at night time you walk back by the railway lines with the fireflies. There is a road that brings you most of the way but walking on the tracks is a much easier way to find it.
Much nicer to stay somewhere like here with the beautiful view and short walk to town than stay in Ella which is surprisingly busy.
The hosts are soooo nice with a cute garden and the room is lovely!response / report this review -

Wonderful little place to stop for a cup of coffee or tea on the hike up to Ella Rock. Didn't catch the man's name, but the coffee he serves is picked from his own garden.

Although there is no menu choice what you get is fantastic, tasty home cooking with a wide selection of fresh and authentic dishes. Funny location by the railway line but a great view and away from the hustle and bustle of Ella town. Peaceful, private, friendly hosts and well worth a visit :0)))

Best place in Ella for a short stay.
Perfectly situated (away from the busy centre of town which is just a 5 min walk away) next to the railway track, with a "happy view" on the Ella Gap (Ella Rock and Little Adam's Peak) and close to the 9 arches bridge. Your hosts are simply put wonderful and really sweet, making your stay as comfortable as you could possibly imagine!
Be sure to order breakfast and have dinner here. We couldn't really find a better chef in town and the fruits out of their garden are amazing.
The room itself is comfortable enough with a really good bed.
Only downside i can imagine is the train passing by early in the morning, but hey.. You want to be at Little Adam's or Ella Rock to see the sunrise anyway, so shouldn't really bother you.response / report this review -

Ella Happy View is a special place. It is in a perfect location on the railway track between Ella Rock and Nine Arch Bridges. The hosts Mr and Mrs Gunawansa are very kind hosts. Mrs Gunawansa makes beautiful curry . Their place is along the track from town and is perfect if you like peace and quiet, local culture, gardens and curry of course. Their place is the hub of the local area as Mr Gunawansa has a small shop.

Great little find along the railway track, just a short walk from the centre of Ella.
Nice room with beautiful view on the valley below. The family managing it doesn't speak much English, but they are really lovely and took good care of us.response / report this review -

Amazing guesthouse in Ella! The view of the hills and Ella Rock from the room and the terrace is overwhelmingly beautiful. It's also remarkably peaceful even though is so close from the city centre. The room is super nice and clean, with a mosquito net and shower with hot water. The owners are really nice and helpful, which makes the stay there even better. Breakfast is more on the pricey side but it is reaaaally worth it, as it includes fresh delicious fruit, samosas, eggs with toasted bread, tea or coffee and pancakes. The guesthouse can seem hard to find, mostly because is new not many people in town know it, but it's only 5 min from the Railway Station walking on the rails (locals and tourists walk there al the time as it is the path that takes to Ella Rock). Totally recomment it!
