Our experience here was nothing like the seemingly positive reviews on this site.
I thought it was overpriced and we felt intimidated by the staff here to constantly spend money here The place backs onto a swamp with barb wire which isn’t ideal and the food and drinks were so overpriced I pay the same in Australia.
I looked at other places in the area that friends have stayed at for the same price and this place is not remotely in the same league.
Very disappointed
We loved our stay at Eliyanth!
Nice clean hotel with good food. Need better management. Hot water was not available in the morning
We loved our quiet stay at Eliyanth Udawalawe. The small team that manages the 5-room hotel is hard working, friendly, and attentive. The rooms are clean and modern. Special mention to the food served at the hotel: dinners were exceptionally tasty. The assortment of dishes served with the Rice & Curry changed every night and everything was always so fresh and utterly delicious. The meals were a highlight of our stay! All that was missing was a pool and we would have never left!
A 'boutique' hotel ie it has 5 rooms. 4 overlook the river with a balcony, the 5th room is a bungalow overlooking a pond.
An amazing BBQ one night, a la carte the other night.
A few ants on the table at breakfast, but tiny and not too bothersome.
Mooie kamers met een niet zo vriendelijke manager
Enthusiastic owner who's always keen for a chat and to help with any arrangements we needed. Peaceful location and our comfortable, spacious room had the welcome novelty of an outdoor shower! Well situated for the National Park and Elephant Orphanage.
Hellhole
Just perfect: quiet, nice food, nice rooms and very friendly owners. Can organize for you Safari tours and transport.
Stunning location, friendly staff and great food
