  Had 3 lessons/guided surfing with Frances. Had a really great time and learnt a lot!
  Can certainly recommend Dylan's Surf Company! Professional and amicable!

  Best place to learn to surf in Arugam Bay. We were there in low season (March 2018) so baby waves for us, but as we were beginners we were actually quite happy with that. I had been surfing before but having troubles still. Our teacher Aravin was very positive and gave really good advice. He is also a real surfer himself.
  
  I know he was teaching the right techniques, as it was the same as I had learned it in the Netherlands (yes we have a beach with waves).
  
  So a word of advice: Be aware of scam people trying to trick you into surf lessons. We have seen tuc tuc drivers giving lessons but not be able to surf themselves. It is very important to learn the right techniques so you will not get hurt.

  Dylans Surf school is a great one, maybe the best i have ever been. They gave me all i needed, from the first advices in the store to the pickup at my homestay and the very impressive lessons by Chuchu. He is not only a good surfer, moreover he is a great teacher who explains everything very understable with the little tricks you need to surf (last day i surfed 20 green waves by myself). The lessons are just fun, especially when he started to surf headstanding (see the pictures).

  He picked us up from our hotel and drove us to a beach with slightly smaller waves (Great for us beginners)
  
  Our instructor was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. I felt that I learnt a lot. He even gave us advice on which board to buy back in the U.K.

  We took 6 classes at Dylans from Chuchu, and we're really happy about it. They work with groups of 2/3 people, so they really have time to teach you things personally. Me and my friend were together in the group so he helped us alternately, so we both could improve on personal things. The prices are not too high and totally worth it!
