Such a rude service, long wait for the food, menu is not good, overpriced. I am a foreigner here and was shocked how badly staff treat locals, very racist! Sad to see! I was here with a partner who is from this country, and I saw how badly he was treated by the waiter. Average food!

Nice place to sit and relax after a long hike.
It is a modern cafe and fastfood restaurant where they serve pizza pasta's and burgers. You can have beer coffee and cake. Nice atmosphere.

This review can save your whole holiday in Sri Lanka. I ate a Dessert in the restaurant and was sick over after that. Now it's the end of the holiday and I be still ill. I know an other person that ate a burger in the same restaurant and was sick over after that too. So hear what I say and Stay away from this restaurant. 🤢🤒

This place was ALWAYS busy & service was slow. I ordered a seafood stuffed coconut. This had mixed seafood & was topped with a prawn. It was AMAZINGLY GOOD! I also ordered a sizzling, peppered steak which was too tough. Order it rare, as it still cooks on the hot plate for a few minutes. Fruit smoothies are DELICIOUS & cold. My husband had a fish curry which was very tasty. They have happy hour daily specials

Staff were lovely food came out quickly.. Nothing awful but nothing spectacular. Tried a mint gin fizz which resembled toothpaste rather than a cocktail and had to send it back. Had the fish and chips which was nice but some of the chips were undercooked. And the batter soggy in places. Others on the table had pizzas which looked good. Food was edible and not unreasonably priced. Place seemed busy. Could be just an off day.

When a vegetarian curry is served tepidly warm, even the rice and with the dhal in a separate dish, be worried. Wait staff either did not understand my complaint about the lack of warmth, but simply did nothing. I asked for the Bossman to pass on my complaints, but he was "not there". Maybe why the cook was having a very lazy night as a result. In a week in Sri Lanka easily the worst so-called curry. This place was previously wellrated in travel guides, but has either gone downhill, changed owners or they simply don't care, or all of the above. Only one meal, but approach with caution. Can recommend Chill next door, as way better the previous night.

About the restaurant:
Fair prices, good menu variety. They have grills and lamb chops (in addition to local rice & curry, pasta/pizza and burgers). Clean and with a quick service it presents itself as a good option. Easy to find at Ella's main street.

We ordered chicken panini, chicken bbq wraps and a vegetable curry. Chicken bbq wrap is really normal but I must say they’re v generous with the chicken portion. Chicken curry is normal. The paninis here are great. Toast to perfections. It was so good we ordered another one. 😋😋😋 slightly pricey for the place tho but definitely worth a shot :)

Awesome place for great food. Tasty & good portion sizes and very reasonable prices compared to other hotels around. Last year we came here and returned this year as well to find they are still keeping the good standards.

A very chill place in Ella town center. There is nice music, great pizza, and (if you are lucky) great sunlight on the sofas. I loved their Margarita pizza though I had to have it in a hurry as I was catching a bus to Matara. I very much recommend this place.

1. Service - extremely rude, racist waiter (it might just have been our luck to get this guy!) - he started rudely belittling my parents when they asked for another pot of tea (noting he had only served tea for one of the three).

2. The food - terrible. The "singaporean noodles" were an oily sri lankan fried noodles variant,and the chips soggy.

I was so embarrassed by how we were treated, especiallt when the only difference between us and the other guests was the colour of our skin.

I would recommend the "roti kade" closer to the centre of town instead, it has a fabulous buffet dinner.

We ordered the 10 curries mixed in a lime leaf and the curry of the day; followed by pancake with buffalo curd and honey. The food and service was great. We also had a cocktail and lion larger + coffee and the whole bill came to 3.500 rs.
Only negative is that the wifi didn't really work.
The cafe seemed very popular, we queued for 20mins before we got a table but it seemed the restaurant also accommodated big groups at the back of the restaurant. Very catered to foreigners/tourists, as expected in Ella.
