One of the best places in Sri Lanka to relax and purify our minds with Vipassana Meditation taught by S.N. Goenka gee. Highly recommended for anyone of any religion in any country who wishes to have life full of happiness.

Had an awesome vipassana experience here in February. Accommodation is basic but adequate and the people there are super helpful with everything food was great, and water is filtered do it's safe to drink. Great amount of plant and animal life to enjoy during your silent time!

I would this its totally run for donations given by old students . The facility is caters for peaceful mediation . The lodging to foods is free . The teachers give you guidance to understand Vipassana mediation . The technique is taught step by step . I would say great way to spend your vacation .

FYI Do NOT go to a meditation course called Vipassana in Kosgama, Sri Lanka. It is meditation in name only. The people there do not know how to do Vipassana. There is no teacher. The 'leaders' babysit practitioners with video tapes that are freely available anyway on Youtube. That 'meditation' was a waste of time. Many people left after 2 days including myself. Plus, at least if you are a woman, there's a lot of meanness for a 'silent' retreat that I totally did not need!
