Located in a spectacular place. That's all about it. Even if you go here, just DONT go to the tea factory, tasting or tour. It's totally disappointing and worthless. Just sit out in the porch and enjoy the view and click a few pics. The tea inside the new building is exorbitant It's a 250 LKR for an ordinary cup of tea. Nothing great in taste either Service sucks. We waited and waited but they were keen only on serving the foreigners,We probably were mistaken for locals for our Indian looks !. I later got to know from our driver that the tea factory tour which was free until recent times was now charged 1500lkr for foreigners. The same tea is served in a nearby building at LKR 60 for locals . There is no board or price displayed anywhere . Was disappointed with the discrimination and the service inside. I did leave a feedback but wonder if that will make any difference!

The tour guide was clearly very disappointed to only have the two of us, and whipped through the 'tour' in five minutes. Nothing about the history of the plantation/factory, the importance of tea to Sri Lanka. I learned more from Google later. No explanation of the different types of tea, and we were unceremoniously dumped in the cafe to have a cup of nondescript tea while the guide ran off to try and commandeer a large tour group. Incredibly disappointed. I believe this was free (part of a 15 day tour we had booked with Odynovo), so definitely worth paying for a decent tea factory tour. Avoid.

Stunning view but ..
10 minute tea tour with very unenthusiastic guide, tea tasting of unknown tea - no explanation given, offered awful cake that was described as complimentary and then had to pay for it, asked for milk to go with tea - milk never came, ate lunch here which was barely edible - the chicken burger wasn't edible Really ugly new building which is not reflective of history of the place and very drab and characterless. 10 Minute Tour about tea, then shopping tea at tourist prices. 1 kg green tea for 34 euros.
1 picker gets paid 10 euros a day for picking 21 kg of tea leaves.from 5 kg tea leaves you get 1 kg tea to sell. The averages income in Sri Lanka is 500 euro. Make your own conclusion.response / report this review -

There were no one to guide us or even tell us where can we have tickets.asked from 4 staff.different answers.there were many foreigners inside with a staff guide.but no one liked to help.
I suggest its not good for locals.

Really a good place to have a little break while leaving nuwara eliya good collection of tea available here. Can taste a cup of black tea with a piece of chocolate cake for few bugs. Really good and clean wash rooms are available

Well maintained tea lounge and factory.but the prices are placed targeting foreign tourists hence very expensive.employees don't entertain queries or interest shown to local tourists.they mainly cater foreigners.if you are a local don't be surprised if you get a bad experience.

Interesting to learn more about how tea is made. The tour is incredibly brief (Maude 5-10 minutes) so you just get information and to see how tea is made. It would be nice to have more historical background information and to be able to walk through part of the plantation. Pretty views from the tea factory terrace.

Stunning view of the tea plantation and river (5), charming decor(4), terrible service (1). Order from the counter, there weren’t anyone managing the tables. 250 rupees for one cup of green tea and water came out luke warm. Ultra expensive for a tea bag and wasn’t expecting to have teach the waiter how to make tea at a tea factory. There’s a shop with packaged teas and souvenirs but no taste test offered go the different types of teas on the Damro label and lack of pride in the tea served up did not show case quality. Worth stopping by for the free view and walk down to the flowing river.
