    Calm temple with ample space.

Historically important place since the scared tooth of Buddha has been hidden here for the safety when Portugese invaders were searching for the same.

This is one of the most ancient temples in Sri Lanka. There is a belief that the tooth relic of Lord Buddha was hidden here for some period of time to save from portuguese.
Annually, they conduct a Dalada Perahara (Miniature Kandy Perahara) function since 1933 with the massive support of villagers. This temple has a proud history.
