Stayed there one day with family of 08 - in early September 2017. The food was really tasty specially the lunch was extraordinary even though it was set menu there were many items
Staff were extremely friendly - specially the Receptionist lady and the Front Office Manager

They have changed their name as Bansel. Good place situated very close to the beach which makes you feel that you are actually on the sea.

A beautiful small hotel on the beach. With maybe 20 rooms I assume. This is the only hotel which is actually on the beach with the waves hitting is walls. The concerns of the water pump and shower pressure as put up by people earlier are correct we also faced the same problem.

The service was outstanding. All our request were catered to, even the unreasonable ones. The staff is very good. Food is limited for vegetarians.

I think they have a reverse racist manager. I am a Sri Lankan living in New York city. Was excited to go see this place during my Sri Lankan visit. Looked it up online and they once i got there, apparently there is no room for me because they are getting a big group next day. When i insisted he begrudgingly gave a room that cannot be open from inside. Went back to the front desk and saw a foreign couple check in without any issue. That was the last nail on the coffin for me. It was a beautiful place, just don't be sri lankan i guess. It had nothing to do with Amaya hotel group neither, i went Amaya Kandy, which is called Hantana. Extremely awesome people that will make you feel welcomed. Not sure what's wrong with the guy at Hikkaduwa Amaya.
