Good bus stand. Washrooms available. There are many tuk - tukers.You can catch busses to Moneragala, Matara, Colombo, Nuwaraeliye, Bandarawela,Galle, Kataragama, Badulla, Thanamalwila, Ulkanda, Ampara, Kandy, Beragala, Haputale. but unfortunately it is difficult to find human after evening. As well as Poya day and Sunday evening no more crowd in this place.

Good bus stop. They have washrooms (20 rupees), and there are signs clearly indicating the busses and where they go.

So many touts will try to sell taxi services. Just ask information office. Bus to Udawalawa is 98 and leaves from the back of the station every few minutes.

Lots of liars and scams. There is a tuk tuk scam in place that tries to mislead foreigners. They'll tell you your bus has just gone and you have to wait 90 minutes for the next bus. Another guy will then tell you it is R2,000 to Ella or wherever you are going. Another guy will impersonate a bus station official and tell you you'll have to wait at least 1 hour for the bus. It's a lie and these people should be ashamed. Walk into the bus manager's office (don't talk to people outside) and talk to the guy or look at the bus stands which are located behind the building (not on the main road side of the building). There are lots of frequent buses here to many locations.

You can catch buses to go Kataragama , Colombo , Badulla, Ampara, Bandarawela, kandy, Hatton,Nuwaraeliya, Galle, Matara .etc from here.It is difficult to find a human After 5.30 pm.

If you're heading from Ella to Mirissa or Tangalle, catch the bus here from Ella, get off and ask for the bus to Matará. Then either get off in Tangalle or swap in Matará for any bus heading to Galle.
