Unfortunately, we were not happy with the services offered for the following reasons: 1.The driver had poor driving skills and did not know common tourist places. 2. The driver also had poor English skills so it was very difficult to communicate 3. The logbook indicated wrong mileage so we were asked to pay for extra mileage we did not use. 4.The communication with the company to solve all issues was poor, slow response and when we finally got a reply, they acted in a very rude and offensive way. We spent many hours of our vacation trying to solve things instead of enjoying beautiful Sri Lanka.

We hired a car and self drove along west , south and central part of the country.
The car was a compact hatch back 2015 Axis which had low fuel consumption and was recommended by Dileep over Yaris in Casons office.
They had fast reply over email and also offered a good price even lower than their website. Getting AA license wasn't a hassle as they prepared it quickly and sent it over my email.

We rented a small car from Casons for approximately seven weeks. Overall the service was good and the price competitive but the arrangements for the drop off at the airport could be organised more efficiently. We had to park outside the Departures Terminal and 'phone, text or WhatsApp their representative who was based at Arrivals. Consequently, there was a delay of about 15 minutes in him reaching us which is not good when you are anxious to check-in - and probably parked illegally for that length of time.

Suggest you take photographs of any dents or scratches on the vehicle on delivery. It was useful for us to show these at the airport as our carbon copy of the contract (marked where there was damage) was unclear and we had to wait even further for their representative to obtain the top copy from the office. This confirmed we had not been responsible for any damage during the hire period which had been suggested.

There was also a delay in the deposit being refunded to our credit card. The document we were handed at drop-off said this would be done within seven days. However, it was necessary to remind the company 10 days later and again a further 5 days later before they confirmed it was being dealt with by their bank.

So a more efficient drop-off procedure and speedier return of the deposit would ensure a more relaxed experience with Casons.

We were assigned driver M T M Ali for our five day tour of the hill country. Throughout he was polite, punctual and very patient. He drove with care and was never irritated when the traffic was chaotic, he just smiled and got us where we wanted to be. The car was immaculate and very comfortable. He was an absolute pleasure and is an asset to your company.

Very good service, very nice guys. The only minor thing was a cost for new electronic car key we had lost, so don't do it. And in general they provide good car, reasonable price and friendly airport front office managers and support during all time we rent a car from them! Recommend to all!

I have been renting cars from Casons since 1988 and I will never go anywhere else. They provide a reliable service at competitive prices. A car may breakdown, but at Casons I know, an alternative is provided without a hindrance to my travel plans. I am assured of the quality of drivers provided. Recently Casons have opened a counter at Colombo International Airport and now I am assured of their services from the time I land on Sri Lanka till I depart. A big thank you to the staff managing the company.

Dishonest and manipulative!!!

In short the service was disappointing since I heard good things about it from my friends.

First of all the car did not last 10 metres as we took it out of their garage before it broke down. Then they offered to replace it with a subpar car which we did not want. The worst offence was on our last day, where they accused us of scratching the car and demanded a large sum of money so they could repaint the car. The thing is there was no scratch and they refused to show us where it was. I had to pay the money of course since I was flying out of Sri Lanka that day. Which is something they knew and decided to take advantage of us.

Have to say never met a more shameless bunch of crooks. I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy

I have hired cars in Sri Lanka on several occasions. This is the first time I have used Casons. Their web site was easy to use to arrange the booking and the car was in an excellent clean condition when collected at the airport and exactly as described on the web. The staff at the airport were very efficient and helpful getting me on the road quickly after a clear briefing on the car, spare wheel, jack etc. and its paperwork which was all in date. The required AA Sri Lankan driving permit was waiting for me as arranged and there was no "hard sell" of excess protection insurance. Returning the car at the end of the trouble free hire period was made a little stressful by the overzealous attention of the airport security staff at the drop-off point - this can be eased by phoning Casons five minutes prior to arrival.
My opinion is that the service provided by Casons could not be improved: certainly the best I have experienced. Totally satisfactory.

Hi. So I've been using a Viva Elite which is on long term rent from Casons for quite a while now. I must say their service is very professional and far more superior than any other rent a car company in our country. The staff is very friendly and they never fail to suprise you. All very genuine and honest people, from the company's owner to the staff. Basically, you're getting more than what you're paying for. The vehicles are in super condition. Even the replacements are very well maintained vehicles. A place I would recommend to any person or entity.

We had a great experience with casons. We had rented out Suzuki Alto for 7 days. The pre-sales part was handled by Irshad who helped me with various queries and offered a relatively new car for good price. The delivery and return were handled by Joseph who was helpful. The car was ready and there were no delays. The car itself was in a good condition and clean. Overall a positive experience. Will use their services again.

Another positive review for Casons

We rented a car with driver for 18 days. I would strongly recommend Casons based on our experience.
The proposed rates, booking process and paperwork were OK. We paid about 40% upfront and the balance at the end.
The car (a modern hybrid Honda Fit Shuttle) was recent, clean, very comfortable and spacious.
The driver (Dimuthu) was very nice, polite, gentle, helpful and enthusiastic. He drives very well, is very knowledgeable about his country, and has lots of tips and stories to tell. He stayed with us for our entire trip and made our journey a great experience.

I have rented a SUV from Carsons Colombo Sri Lanka. I would like to place on record my deep appreciation for the professional service that I have received through out. All the paperwork have been completed before my arrival including validating my international drivers licenses. Carsons representative ( Mr. Joseph ) at Colombo airport was not only helped me out but also had the courtesy to go out of his way to ride with me to the nearest gas station. The SUV was reliable and comfortable. The rates were very reasonable too. Upon return of the vehicle I was well taken care of and the process was smooth. Made a booking online a couple of weeks ago and the staff has been very responsive and helpful via email. After I made the booking (and paid) we had to change our plans and did need the car anymore. Carsons were kind enough to agree to a full refund on my payment, which I'm grateful for! Disclaimer: needless to say, we didn't actually end up renting a car.

We were let down badly by SR Rentals who didnt even turn up at the airport. We tried calling but no answer. Very poor service. Luckily the Galle Face hotel recommended and arranged a car from Casons. We were picked up from the hotel and taken to their office to arrange a car. Very professional operation that impressed me greatly. On our return they arrange a free transfer to the airport. Would recommend to anyone

Casons Rental had our reservation for a 77 day contract a full five months prior to arrival. The car we requested was not available, so we were given a Toyota car that was not comfortable. Problems started immediately, for as we inspected the well worn car, two bald tires were discovered, one with a large separation knot on the sidewall. This was repaired, but we found the old tires in the trunk the following morning when we attempted to load the suitcases at our hotel. Twenty kilometers south of Colombo, on the freeway, the front fender well lining fell onto the tire causing a great noise. I cut it away with a pocketknife, and proceeded to a destination in Ella, Uva. Ten days later, the car quit while on a short excursion to Arugambay. Casons would not send out a representative , but asked me to attempt to fix the situation . After 36 hours, involving buying a battery, contracting a mechanic, another breakdown, and a night in a hotel, Casons sent a mechanic who arrived at 1 AM the third day and asked me to take him to the car which was abandoned in Arugambay. They fixed the alternator, and left me with the same car. The car's tax a license expired two weeks later, and Casons had to send another car to meet me at a location remoter to Colombo for an exchange. There were other shortcomings, but this is enough to tell. The staff at Casons are indeed very very nice, as are all the Sri Lankan people we met in 77 days. I know they don't intend to perform badly, but they have a lot to learn about how to run a car rental business. I might rent there again, but I would make real sure that Dileep was aware that no more of this poor service would be tolerated. One learns traveling a strange country, but a tourist should not be subjected to this . They provided the wrong car, it was a worn out unsafe car, and it wasn't licensed for the period of my contract, and their ability to service the country is lacking.

Casons is number 1 rental company in Sri Lanka. They are the most price competitive among all companies. The staff is very helpful and always available on call. They even reduced our damage cost from 6K to 4K as we were students. The owner of the company mr. Zakir Ahamed is a very friendly and nice person. Would rent a car Casons again.

We chose the limousine for our wedding couple months ago and was not disappointed. The car was lovely and in mint condition. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy and our experience was positive. And presented the car with beautiful flowers and ribbons.

Thank you for making our wedding a truly fantastic one. From the very first contact to the wedding day itself was always prompt to returning calls and make sure the customer service was great. Very patient, specially with all the last minute changes.
