Black Cat Cafe + B&B likes keeping it simple. Our aim is to offer our customers a few things, done extremely well.

Drink
Black Cat's range of coffees are based on a Melbourne-model of coffee culture, where each cup is carefully prepared and presented by our overseas-trained barista. No burned beans here.

Eat
As much as our local cuisine is a big favourite with the Black Cat family, an excellent sandwich is often hard to come by in Colombo. So our aim is to fill that void with mouth-watering bread, and seasonal, gourmet ingredients.

Read
Bookshops are fun. Vintage book markets are funner. We've married the two to give you the best of both worlds, plus vintage prints.

Lounge
Black Cat is set in a beautiful colonial house with a large wrap-around verandah overlooking a banana-leaf garden. So come over and grab a seat. We'll have that coffee brought over to you right away.

  🌿Happy World Environment Day folks! 🌿At Black Cat we're continually taking steps to reduce our environmental footprint and do our bit to #passonplastic and help achieve a #zerowastelanka. Since we opened in December 2015 we've: 1. Only ever offered customers glass water bottles and tumblers over disposable plastic water bottles at the cafe 2. Switched out of plastic takeaway containers to recycled @anantasustainables boxes 3. Replaced polythene takeaway bags with recycled br...ownbags from @anantasustainables 4. Started using @anantasustainables paper straws over plastic 5. Initiated discounts to customers who bring their own cup or mug instead of using a disposable coffee cup #byomug 6. Switched over to glass bottles and a water filter/glasses at the Bnb 7. Installed solar powered hot water panels for all showers at the Bnb 8. Provided reusable ceramic shampoo/body wash bottles in the Bnb . 🌿Today we're pledging our commitment to: 1. Sourcing an alternative to single use disposable coffee cups and takeaway drinks cups 2. Wherever possible, ditching single use plastic whenever alternatives are in supply 3. Educating our staff on why we're making these changes, and empowering them to make the change themselves. . 🌿Thank you for supporting us, we couldn't do it without you! . . 📷 @cleancoastcollective

  Hi all, hope you've got some fun things planned this holiday season! Black Cat will be CLOSED for Avurudhu, APRIL 12th - 18th. Back open on April 19th.
