  Tiny little cafe attached to the Botanic Gardens' gift shop, right next to the exit. There's barely enough room for the two tables that are in there so I think its geared more towards takeaway orders, although they do have some outdoor seating, no aircon out there though. I just wanted to sit and use the wifi to figure out my next steps. The wifi speed was good and the staff were friendly when I asked a tourist related question. Prices are high for Sri Lanka but not outrageous.

  "proper" coffee scarce in Sri Lanka, stumbled on this place by luck as marketing limited owing to placement in botanical gardens exit shop (which I assume is government facility). Excellent coffee, good friendly service. You pay same price as in Europe, which is fair enough given current lack of competition.
