Good family run guesthouse with an eager proprietor who wants to please. We stayed here two nights in two different rooms. The first room was a lovely top floor room with a big balcony and bed. Second room was small and cramped. Food was Great, but a little expensive. It was quite damp in the rooms. We emptied our backpacks to let every thing air out a little. Bad idea. Now every thing is moist. Wi-Fi only in the common area but they have two nice common areas to offer.

The host hired a good driver for us and his name is Mahinda Wijesiri in my pictures. If you live here and need a Tuktuk drive you to Horton Plain and Lipton seat, you can ask the host to call this driver. He gave us reasonable price and not only be a driver but also be a tour guide, a good photographer and a friend. We have fun together with some locals in Lipton Seat. Although he waited for us for 5hrs in Horton Plain(normally take only 3hrs）but he didn't angry and complain at all.
The view of Awinco Rest room is awesome. But I think you should contact the host after you finish the booking. Because there are some bad man speak good English will cheat you and ask you to promise hiring his tuktuk in this town （the host told us). So it's better contact the host and consult him about your plan in this cute small town-Haputale.

it was a short walk to town and our room had a fantastic view over the valley with the hills in the distance. We had a lovely balcony to spend the evening on and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. They had a room for our driver

I had a good time staying here. The owner/staff was friendly, seems like run by family. The room was ok and it was pretty clean. They are pretty close and walkable from the main busy town of Haputale.
