Nice and calm place situated in habarakada. close to the Athurugiriya highway interchange. H . Mawarale bhaddhiya thero can be seen at there.not enough parking space available .

This is the Ven. Mawarale Bhaddhiya thero's temple.
Very calm and sacred place with a nice view. Chethiya is built on the rock which naturally located.
Couple of years ago, this was a part of a rubber estate. Bhaddhiya thero worked hard coordinating with many parties to build the temple for future generation.
Last year opened a new Bhikku Sanghawasaya built for Ven Samanera Bhikkus to develop the nation with Lord Buddhas vision.
I was fortunate to participate to build the Bodhi Prakaraya and Chethiya which were built on top of the mountain.
It is very good if anyone can take a part for Sanghika Dhana even once a year.
It is not much harder to offer a Sanghika Dhana since preparation of the Dhana is done by the temple.
We can keep our eyes on pitikara and other requirements of Ven. Samanera Bhikkus.

A Buddhist monastery newly built on a rock situated in Habarakada, Homagama, in the Colombo District. Visitors can reach the monastery if coming from Southern Expressway E01 Athurugiriya Interchange via Kotte-Bope Road B240 towards Godagama about 4km and then turn to Sri Seelalankara Mawatha travelling further 500m. Visitors can experience the tranquility of the surrounding nature.
