Luxurious resort, direct on the beach, that's very clean. There is a security-man 24h per day, so you can take a bath at night and you'll feel hear very safe. The rooms are big, very comfortable and clean, with a big bathroom. I loved this resort! I would like to come back everytime that I make my holiday in Sri Lanka!

Very nice place to spend relaxing weekend. Warm welcome by friendly staff who always willing to help. Very good meals with variety of food items. Specious rooms with all facilities including TV, multimedia systems etc.
There are several beautiful places to take snaps in and around the hotel. Nice swimming pool with 2 kids pools. Nearby beach also like a pool, you can enjoy with sea bath safely. If you walk along the beach you can see several sea creatures also.response / report this review -

Wonderful!. Warm welcome by the 'reception staff. Rooms are very spacious with a tv, multimedia system, mini bar and a safe. Restaurant is also very good. Wide variety of food and friendly staff. Pool also very attractive only 1.2 m death and there are 2 baby pools. We enjoyed a lot our stay.

I spent two days with full board package , Amethyst Resort is a very nice place to be relaxed for a weekend . foods are Delicious. Nice beach view and the very nice swimming pool faced to the beach. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and nice. front office staff, room boys and pool guys are very friendly and outstanding support .

Nice place to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Have to stay minimum of two nights as travelling from Colombo takes almost 6-7 hours oneway. Food and service is average

New resort in good shape. Kind service. Very clean and large pool. Quiet place (during off-season) Very good food but prices in the restaurant are as high as in Europe. Large and clean rooms with sea or river view. This place is perfect for recreation for couples or families. I recommend it.

This is a good place to spend the day calm and quiet and sceneries are very beautiful. Very helpful, flexible staff and management. Delicious foods prepared according to western and local recipes. Calm environment. Beautiful garden. Beach is very good for swimming and to sea Corals.

The hotel itself looks like an upmarket army camp. The lake in the middel of the resort might come in useful thanks to reported crocodiles.
The highlight however is the pub and bar.
Good drinks selections but best are the low and all inclusive prices !
A rare model. And a lesson all other overpriced resorts nearby should learn. This is a way to attract customers.response / report this review -

We had a great experience with the resort as they offered us a low rate for B&B during off-season. The rooms were very clean, the bathroom is awesome and the proximity to the beach great. The staff is very friendly and helps with everything. Highly recommended!

Nice Beach to have wonderful experience. But resort is unsafe. Crocodile is freely moving in the resort premises. We found one crocodile at the bridge in the night, it was horrifying There are plenty of crocodile are in the canal. Be vigilant at night specially kids movement. Food is worst. We have tasted very bad Lankan curries there. Looking forward a change.

Currently at the hotel and experiencing the worst hotel service . Promised us on buffet at the reservation but ended up with a horrible set menu. We books triple rooms but tea cups and glasses are for two. Complained but they didnt fulfill the requirement. No private beach as advertise . Its the crowded public beach. Not clean at all. Not recommend at all.

The hotel, pool and beach was great. Amazing food. Buffet had every type of food plus it was all delicious. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would totally recommend this resort.

A perfect place for a beach holiday. The swimming pool facing the beach on the eastern coast would give ample bathing experience during the dusk. Also this is facing the sun rise in the morning. Well maintained clean surrounding and gardens. The view of traditional huts from the beach side is mind blowing.
