Aluth Nuwara Sri Dedimunda Dewalaya is the main Dewalaya(Temple) for the god Dedimunda. make sure were decent dress to visit here.

very special thing is if ladies on their periods times should not visit this place. this is not only for this temple this matters with every temples in Srilanka.

This is believed to be the temple of the God “Dadimunda” who is the protector of Central Province and its people. The place is always crowded but sheltered by huge trees around. The journey is around 1 hour from Kandy and the temple is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Famous Batalegala Mountain is not very far from here. I have read that this sacred place is very historical and has been constructed back in 1230-1270.

Dedimunda Dewatha Bandara Deviyo දැඩිමුණ්ඩ දෙවියෝ) is worshiped as a guardian of Buddha Sasanaya in Sri Lanka.
Can expect to be crowded on wednesdays and saturdays.
