Liechtenstein is somewhat like a fairy tale principality and the photogenic castle draws the attention. Unfortunately, it is off limits to the tourists. It is still the active residence of the Prince and his family. There are numerous angles from which you can take pictures of the castle to preserve your Lichtenstein memories.

Short walk to the Castle. Gorgeous views. Be sure to continue a little higher up the road for the best viewpoint.

So the castle by itself isn’t much to see as you can see in the pictures below. The current prince does live here. However I would still recommend doing this if you’re in Liechtenstein as it isn’t too hard a walk to the top (avoidable if you have bad knees or an injured foot). The View while walking to the top is Spectacular! The walk up is peaceful and quiet and you get a view of the entire city from the top. You can also take a car to the top.

Beautiful castle, but no entry inside for tourists. Still worth going up to the parking (a bit further up from the castle) to enjoy the view.

A great place to have visited. The castle is beautifully illuminated during night and the hilltop is a good viewing point to look over the capitol Vaduz. Nice to see that it is still in use as a private residence. It connects to many historical events.

Nice castle. Very good view all around. The inside of the castle is not open for public as the Prince of Leicestein still resides there.

It takes a 15-20 minute hike to reach the castle, but the view of the Alps around and from the castle and on the way up to it is amazing.

Went there after a hike in Austria just so I can say "I was there". But you should save your time for something better. There is no public access (Yes, I knew that before) and the castle itself and even the view down to the city is not very special from there. Best way to visit is by reading the wikipedia-article: Better view and better information than you will get on site.

Very nice place. If you go to Vaduz, it's a nice walk to the castle. It's short and worth the view you have from the city and mountains up there.

Although it is closed for visiting it us worth getting there. I had a wonderful relatively short walk to the top of the hill. There are couple of benches to rest and truly magnificent view of the whole Vaduz

The indication was not so clear. I walked through a lovely pedestrian way. Nonetheless, since the princes still live there, we could not enter through the gate, even in the garden.

It's a nice short hike up to the castle (or drive). You'll see far out beyond the border. It sure was hell windy!!

    1) Beautiful place.
    2) Beautiful view of city
    3) Parking available.
    4) No entry inside the palace.
    5) Sometimes strong winds in the area, due to which chances of trees falling are present. Roads may get blocked. But different ways available.

Nice view. A private property and you can't go inside. Just visiting outside, pictures and that's it.

Lovely castle and views, parking available for free just up the round or you can walk up from the town.
You can’t go into the castle but it’s really not far out of the way to come see it.

A beautiful castle and beautiful surroundings. Nice view of Vaduz, free parking. However, it is not possible to enter the castle because it is inhabited by the ruling prince (Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein).

Walk around the castle and enjoy some lovely views of Liechtenstein and Alps. The castle is actually the royal family's residence and you won't be ably to come inside. But it's still quite nice to visit.

You have to see this place, if in Europe. The prince still lives here. Well guarded castle with no restrictions to see around. Toilets are available and also adequate free parking. Don't forget your 📷.

Beautiful view of Vaduz. You can't go inside the castle as the royal family still lives there. Pleasant walk up from the town, with history and information about the country along the way.

Beautiful view over Vaduz and Liechtenstein as a whole. Unfortunately the castle can't be visited since it serves as the private residence for the princely house.

Beautiful castle, it annoys me people mark it down because it is a private residence. Just because you can't go inside it doesn't mean you can't enjoy it from outside. Along with stunning views of the valley it is worth a trip.

If you're in the city, you might as well see the castle. From the center of the town there's a nice walk up the hill that provides good views of the city and surrounding area.
The castle itself is fine. A giant circular defence towers let's you immagine that this place was build to keep attackers outside. The living area behind the tower can't be visited, as the castle is still inhabited.

Very nice castle and the view is also nice. We left our car at the parking lot near Rheinpark Stadion. In 10 minutes, you are in the center of Vaduz.

Vaduz is a quaint city and perfect for a nice stretch of the legs. Plenty of tourist shops and cafes in the main strip but I highly recommend escaping these and going for a walk around the city. The red house is in walking distance and all houses are kept in immaculate condition. At the top of the hill you'll find the castle and feel free to take an apple from the trees growing in the public grounds

Very nice castle, but you won't get inside. It is only worth to visit when you are around, but I would not recommend it as a primary destination of a day trip.
Surrounding is well maintained with park opened, so you have a picnic there. Nothing else but nice views to Swiss Alps.
