Departing is a nightmare. So unorganized and lines are extremely long with one person doing each job. They plan for all flights to leave at the same time causing there to be no seats and overcrowding. Currently sitting on the ground with no air condition.

Everything's great. No problems getting what you need and the staff there are very nice and helpful.

Our arrival at the airport was a dream and could not have been more pleasant and orderly. The departure, however was the exact opposite. We were herded through various lines and it seemed as if they'd just opened the airport the day before and had never handled this number of people departing an airport before. Then when we finally get to the open area with the gates, there was just a mass of people standing around waiting with no direction and no one to ask what gate or "line" we needed to get in. It was almost funny because EVERYONE was so confused and talking about how this was THE worst airport organization they'd ever seen. Based on this, I'd advise you arrive well ahead of the advised 2 hour time before your flight leaves so you can navigate the haphazard maze that is Hewanorra airport departures. Probably catch a buzz beforehand as well so that you can remain Maximum Chill throughout the ordeal.

Customs line took hours. No air conditioning at the time. Amazing views and cool aviation experience. Very small airport.

Airport staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is a small airport, but that is expected on a small island. Prices in one of the souvenir shops were quite a lot higher than anywhere else on the island - I suppose that can be seen as normal seeing as it's a last chance to buy these things (in my case: Tamarind juice that I hadn't found in the supermarkets -- 30EC Vs 10EC). Other than that, the airport carries out all functions that it is meant to in an acceptable manner.

The black volcanic mountains provide a magnificent backdrop for any proposal. If your beloved one is inactive and not really and outdoor type person then the Pitons can be viewed from different hotels and areas around the island. If your partner is outdoorsy then a proposal after a hike on the Piton spires couldn’t be more romantic.

This is the worst airport I have visited. Arriving was met with such ease the staff was very welcoming. However, departing to return home was a disaster. First of all we had to go through security screening before checking in which was very annoying. This lady asked us 101 questions. I felt like I was going through an interegation. We had to show 4 different people our passports before going through the security. Once we got cleared it was so hot there waiting at the gate. Lastly NEVER EVER go to the restaurant upstairs at the back called the Turmac Lounge those people have nasty attitudes and they steal your money. Beware!

Ridiculously small and crowded. Of course they use good scheduling to have lots of flights arrive and depart at the same time to make it more cramped. Miserable.

    1. No discernable air conditioning in Departures
    2. Too small for volume of passengers.
    3. Local live entertainment (seriously old guy playing guitar and singing) in departures is too loud and unintelligible.
    4. Cannot hear departure announcents over the local entertainment.
    5. You’ll sweat yourself silly waiting in lineups and in seating areas.

Airport is too small for amount of passengers. It was very hard to walk through, no places to sit except the floor. Then our flight was canceled and they didn't appear to have any plans for what to do when that happens.. We ended up standing around like cattle for a few very hot hours until we were allowed back through to customs to pick up our bags. Which led to another very slow moving line. Throughout the process there was virtually no communication from airport staff, only word of mouth from someone who heard someone else talk to somebody.

Its the fastest check in ive ever had in any airport. Except for my country, staff are friendly and give a good vibes, unlike certain caribbean airport with about the same size, and chase away visitor with their attitude. Hopefully they will expand the airport since the arrival was full of people waiting there, a bench or seat would be good especially for thr elders and kids. I havent got any free wifi from the airport, thats a drawback.

Arrived in St. Lucia 2/25/17 and had a reservation with Sixt, Budget and Hertz for a rental car. Did this acct past experience in not having available cars. All 3 did not have a car available unless I wanted to pay a higher rate. Seeing other reviews I believe this is normal business practice and should avoid. The only way I can think of is to get the rental through your resort, they will not want to loose business through them. Best of Luck!

You have to walk outside to board your planes. No jet bridges here.

Absolutely awful. They put 'Budget' stickers all over the car so everyone knows its a rent-a-car. Criminals look for rental cars to break into which happens on a almost daily basis and which was what happened to me. Even though I had full insurance they still charged me 295 USD to get the glass fixed even though it was the smallest section of glass on the car. Rent from anyone else.

Very nice small but international airport. Lucians are friendly people generally ;) It's arrival hall can look crowded for a short while when large planes land, I've never waited too long for formalities tho. Love to land there, just steps away from the beach and town of Vieux Fort,
