Unique restaurant in the heart of Tripoli

Matte: So after 2 bad experiences back when it first started operating last year, we decided to give Matte another try today since everyone is talking about how good their food has recently become!
First of all, we were welcomed in a very decent way by more than 3 waiters. But we had to change seats more than 2 times since the non-smoking area doesn't really prevent the smell.
Anyway, we ordered the mini burgers as an appetizer; and let me tell you, they taste SO GOOD. Reminded me of Divvy's mini burgers.
As main dishes, we ordered the grilled salmon (8/10) and the steak mushroom sandwich (5/10).
All in all, it was a good experience. However, I was disappointed in the steak!response / report this review -

Cosy restaurant at Tripoli main street. Menu is a mix if international appetizers, salads, main dishes, desserts and some lebanese plates. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. Shisha available. I recommend the quinoa halloum salad. Very tasty and beautifully presented

The ambiance is good, the service is nice. BUT, the food is NOT tasty!
I tried it many items in multiple occasions before constructing my final decision about this place: NOT Recommended!
Only one food-related thing I enjoyed there: the fondant au chocolat was amazing! It's delivered warm, and really "fondant" from inside.
DO NOT try the Pain Perdu (too much cinnamon), the Elizabeth Cake (you pay too much for an overrated cake (when asking the waiter about it), the hot chocolate (it's mainly milk with barely few grams of chocolate powder in it---> seriously!!!).
You can do better as you have all the magical clues! Till then, not recommended!response / report this review -

Burger was amazing. I was really surprised they had turkey bacon, which was amazing. Another surprise was the choice of a slice of turkey in the burger, which elevated the burger to a whole new level. The bathroom was super clean.

Nice atmosphere and common menu with dishes prepared in an above average way. However overuse of oil in recipes detracts from the overall food quality as the dishes have mild seasoning levels and delicate flavours

Matte is the new urban food cuisine restaurant opening in Tripoli. It is breaking the «trend» in the area and introducing a brand new concept of urban cuisine.
The name along with the identity exude a modern /industrial feel that defines the whole concept of the restaurant.response / report this review -
