The best shawerma in Lebanon 😍😍😍
Try shwarma, it's awesome.
After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of the shawerma, we went up to the restaurant all the way from Soor on a Saturday. In hindsight, I guess our biggest sign that this place was going to be a flop was the fact that there was literally only 2 seated tables in the whole place. They do not have menus, but they offer the usual Lebanese fair. We ordered mtabbal, the mixed appetizer plate (with kibbe, samboosik and r2a2at), tabbouli, vegetarian grape leaves, fries, 2 shawerma beef and 2 chicken sanwiches, and half a grilled chicken. The mtabbal had a very offputing sour taste- almost as if they’d used citric acid instead of fresh lemon juice. The samboosik had a weird slimey texturethe meat appeared to be mixed with (yogurt? Tahini?) and literally had no flavor. The “r2a2at” were extremely thin and tiny and didn’t taste like anything except salt. The kibbe were average. The tabbouli was actually ok, but needed a touch more salt and lemon juice. The grape leaves were another disappointment. The leaves themselves were still tough and the filling was like a sour blob. You literally cannot taste anything except something sour. The fries were cold, soggy, and under salted. The biggest disappointment, however, was the shawerma. The first issue was that they said it would be wrapped in mar2oo2 bread. The bread they used, however, was more like a tortilla-thick. The grill flavor on the meat barely came through. There was an overwhelming flavor of a particular spice that overpowered everything else. That applies to both the chicken and beef. The chicken was worse than the beef in that the chicken itself was dry and overcooked and was EXTREMELY SALTY. Finally, the grilled chicken; they really managed to mess that one up. The chicken had a gamey flavor and the sauce on top was horrid. It was so sour and offputting. The chicken was also extremely overcooked and dry. I’m not sure if this was a bad day or if it’s an actual reflection of the place, but I know that I’ll never go back.
Cosy place. Food is good. Service is fine.
