Astonishing,
Jaw dropping ruins.
Spent 2 days in Baalbeck one whole day Visited Heliopolis. the history of the place The fact that you can walk around those ruins! I'm speechless. I wish I've visited during the festival.
It is a MUST visit destination!

The old Baalbeck city has been very well preserved, and it's so inspiring to explore the temples. Although Bachus and Jupiter are by far the most popular temples, there's plenty of others worth exploring. Since Baalbeck is in Bekaa, it's surrounded by mountains so the backdrop is always interesting - whether it's Tannourine mountain or the Anti-Lebanon mountains. Spring is a special time to visit, plenty of greens, temples framing the snow remaining on the mountains, and before the city of the sun heats up.

Simply amazing! 3 temples a small citadel of Roman wonders take about 2 hours to have a proper roam around. Read about it in detail before u visit to understand what you are looking at. If you are an antiquity nerd this is paradise.

We took a tour from Beirut to see these amazing ruins. Phoenician, Roman, Arab and Ottoman influences here. Well worth the scenic ride to see this.

One of the best, if not the best, roman ruins you ll ever see. Make sure to take a guide (husein) as there are lot of interesting stories to be heard.

Not very often do you get to visit a place from 2000 years ago from the Roman times. They had sculptures of Medusa, Cleopatra, Marc Anthony, and many more. Definitely worth the visit!

The guide was very thorough and interesting. Although he didn't speak English well, he was very helpful and had answers to all of our questions. The site was amazingly well kept :) We all loved it there. Although we only spent about an hour there it was totally worth it. Don't forget to have "sfiha", the traditional Baalbeck street food.

If there is one thing to see in Lebanon is the Roman temples of Baalbeck. Honestly, the site is unique in the world. The temple of Bacco (the Roman god of wine) still has some of the most beautiful arts and carvings almost intact. The site is also astonishing for the huge materials, with columns up to 28 meters.

Amazingly well preserved remains of the Roman temples. Awe inspiring location, a definite highlight of my trip to Lebanon. After wondering around the complex I recommend having a falafel from one of the friendly vendors in the high street and a coffee in the Old Souk.

I say magic but i say fiction.no,no i mean heaven or paradise;OMG,i cannot describe this part of Lebanon.
Believe me it's impossible to find like this magic and beauty in the earth.

Great place to visit and learn about this epic historical site. I highly suggest going with the tour guide for the complete experience. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the area where its situated. if it wasn't for the army presence in not sure I would have felt as safe

A must see if you're visiting Lebanon. Even-though you can drive to the city if Baalbek from Beirut, I recommend taking a tour bus with a guide. The guide Lela explain the history of the three temples.

A wonderful architectural treasure! Very few crowds. Unlike other Roman ruins, here you can walk right into the standing buildings. Some areas are amazingly well preserved, even painted mosaics and art have survived

Fantastic experience and one I'll always remember. There is much speculation about how the temple complex was built at Baalbek.
Many people think that Aliens must have visited earth and gave us advanced technology to build such a massive structure.
The reality was much more barbaric and sadly all too common in human history.
Here Hassan explains in detail how it was actually built. He has been giving tours here for 40 years so he knows what he is talking about.
