Of all the restaurants I ate at during my 30 days in Laos, this one remains my favorite. While the teenage girl lurking in the corner can be a bit off putting, she's actually very sweet and interacts with guests. The family who owns this restaurant is lovely and very sweet. I ate almost all of my meals here during the entire week and it is especially good for vegetarians: pumpkin soup and veggie lab were tasty! There is plenty to choose from on the menu and they are all very reasonably priced dishes. Highly recommend.
Ordered the pumpkin curry and mamas special soup with chicken. Both dishes very taste but curry doesn't come with rice. Prob. Some of the nicest dishes we had in Laos and friendly people too!
A nice place to eat that's less expensive than many in town. I liked the pumpkin and veg curry the best here.
Handwritten menus include reviews and tips from past travelers, occasionally helpful since the menu isn't always up to date on what's included in terms of pricing and ingredients. Good value for lunch and dinner; pricing isn't as good on breakfasts.
If you like Mama Lao in Nong Khiaw, you will like that one. This is her daughter that is behind the stove. The curries are very good, the mama fried noodle also. We loved the fresh spring rolls and the Lao Salad. These 2 are a bit different then her mother’s but still really good. The place a nice and the service much faster then mama lao.
We ate there breakfast, the food was really good, the best breakfast we had in Laos so far- good coffee, fresh hot baguette and great shakshuka. Good price for everything and the family that runs the place are the friendliest here! Really recommend to go there
Reat food and friendly staff!
Doesnt look that attractive from the outside but its worth it!
Might be the best lao food I've eaten?!
Just about the restaurant: great food with real good taste, much better than in Nong Khiaw or Luang Prabang. Tip: try bamboo soup with meat or banana sticky rice. The last one is not sticky but it's good, like a rice dessert.
One minus point: it takes really long here to get your food. There may be half a an hour up to one hour between the first person that gets his/her food and the second one. The good food and the friendly staff make up for it though
J’y ai mangé pendant les 3 jours de mon séjour, j’y ai aussi dormi une nuit. La nourriture est excellente et pas chère. Les chambres pourraient être mieux isolées mais au moins elles ont l’eau chaude.
We spent there two nights. The room was big with a big balcony and two hammocks. The owner was really kindly. We ate there as well and the food was amazing, really cheap and tasty. You have to wait a bit because all is cooked at the moment but absolutely it worth it. You have to try Fried Bamboo with meat and Pad Thai with meat.
Super food.and really nice homestay! Amazing laap!
Best value for money in the area. Tasty food, cheap prices and good atmosphere. The dishes we tried were all great (Shakshuka, Laap, Fried bamboo), and the drinks were good.
