Very similar concept to HCMC War Remnant Museum but to a very small scale.
There is a simple video pertaining to war in Indochina and the education of Laotians to UXO especially children.
The suffering of Laotians til now and ongoing accidental explosions of UXO should place world leaders ordering the use of cluster bombs and chemicals to death penalty.
They should be responsible to rebuild homeland of others that they destroy.
Sadly most countries actively helping Lao are not those directly involve in the war.
What happen to the culprits' conscience?

Small museum. An eye opening look at how Laos was impacted by the war. Worth a visit. Takes less than an hour to see it all.

Only small but they have a little movie theatre that gives a bit more info, and then some bombs and weapons spotted around. I recommend leaving a donation but it is free to attend

Small, but definitely worth visiting. A lot of weapons, bombs and ammunition, movies and posters with info. UXO is huge problem, it is good to learn about them also for your own safety.
Admission is free, there is donation box.

Seeing the destruction that the American war of aggrection caused these poor village people was disturbing. America should feel ashamed at the horror that it caused these innocent people. Even today one innocent person is blown up every day by unexploded ordinance. Shame on Americans.

You must visit here if you want to understand the context the beautiful Luang Prabang is placed within. There is a series of short videos explain the devastation caused by the USA during the Vietnam War / 2nd Indo-China War / The 'secret war'. The displays explain the damage of in exploded bombs decades later, and impressively the amount of undertaking the Laos people with some international support are doing to remove the millions of bombs dropped on this 'neutral' nation.

I went expecting a big museum. This location is for the UXO office that does excellent work cleaning up unexploded ordinances. However, the museum was small and not so interesting.

Very insightful museum on the secret war. The museum has one main room exhibiting facts and figures and another room showing several videos on loop which discuss the secret war, UXO victims, and the clean up operations.
Well worth a visit and a donation.

Quite a sobering place. Vietnam grabbed the spotlight during the Cold War but Laos suffered as much, its fate not quite known to many even to this day. The museum shines a light on the undetonated explosive weapons (also known as UXOs) that were air-dropped on the country during a 12-year period, the dangers of coming into contact with these weapons, and the on-going removal effort that is estimated to take 100 years. There are no admission fees but donations are welcome.

The place also seems to function as the operations center for removal efforts within the area. During my visit, I saw uniformed personnel in what seems to be a briefing session, but did not make contact.

The place is a bit out of the way for most tourists. I walked about half an hour at a leisurely pace, stopping for pictures along the way.

Learnt a lot going through this small museum. We had no idea about the amount of munitions that the US dropped on Laos. So sad how decades later people still die every year from them. The videos they show are eye opening. Free to go through but they take donations for an excellent cause.

It's a small place to stop by and learn something about the explosives used during the war you can get an idea on what they look like and things to watch out for. It's a good idea to take a visit if you are venturing alone in the forest or really remote areas of Laos. The staff are really helpful and take the time to answer any of your questions.

Everyone should visit it while in Luang Prabang to know more about war and what it meant for the people in Laos, in the past and unfortunately in the many years to come until all explosives get disarmed. Simple but straight to the point. Why do we make war? Why innocent people get always the worse part? It works under donations so.. every little helps.

This may not be the best presented display with all the bells and whistles of a modern museum but the simplicity brings home the lack of funding and the conditions under which the people working to clear Laos of unexploded bombs are working. It may have been a long time ago that the American military was dropping extraordinary amounts of explosives on the country but the consequences are still being felt and the UXO should be a must see for any visitor to Laos who wants to get a real feel for the countries history.
