I stayed there for a week for a workshop and I was really enjoy with there views, garden, flowers, room design, and their service. Every morning they always privide varies of breakfast menu, noodle soup, porridge, western breads, salads, fruit joices, coffee and especially, they provide you self cooking or take a cooking class for your favorite dish. Swimming pool is very clean and healthy to jumping in :) , my friend did but I did not because I don't know how to swim. People is so kind and always smile with greeting word " Sabaidee " mean " Hello or How are you ? " I really love them They even gave me a green mango with Chilli while it was out of menu. Holel provide a transportation in the evening to drop you at the night market and pick up each time , see their schedule for detail ! ! !

A nice colonial hotel, a former residence of the former Prince (Laos isn't a kingdom anymore) with impressive views of the Mekong River, located in a quiet retreat about ten minutes by shuttle bus from the center of Luang Prabang. Friendly staff are eager to help you. A very reasonable rate for the services offered. Beware that the hotel advertises itself as 5 stars despite the local authorities regarding it as 4. Also, there were lots of inaccessible places that looked pretty abandoned, and no signs not explanation for this. Take the pool, for instance. I was told the pool had just been closed the day before because it was dirty. When I checked it out, there was only a tiny sign saying "under maintenance", and the pool looked like it hadn't been used for over a month; the water was a deep murky green with tons of stuff breeding in/on it. There were no signs in the lobby indicating anything, and I was directed to the pool as if nothing has happened. Otherwise, it's good value for such a good room with such a view. Consider also that most of the locals don't understand English well enough yet and lots of miscommunication will happen during your time in Laos, but don't let this keep you away from one of the most breathtaking places in Southeast Asia.

The rooms were nice, the view to our room was absolutely amazing. Right along the river and serene. The restaurant was simple. There was not much nightlife to the property. We felt like we were the only ones there. The breakfast is a la carte if there are not enough guests. The buffet breakfast was good. The grounds were well kept. The first day we arrived the pool water was murky. The following days the water was clear. Pool service you have to ask for, no one is around that area you ask. Staff were pleasant and friendly. A little ways out of the way. A tuk Tuk back at night you can negotiate at 30-40k.

Very charming hotel, very good cuisine, excellent staff, very confortable and clean rooms. I recommend the room with the balcony, which has a MUST see view of the Mekong River (photo below). Really enjoyed my time at this great hotel.

The Grand Laung Prabang Hotel is located on the banks of the grand Mekong River with a spectacular panoramic view of the picturesque mountains surrounding Luang Prabang, approximately 4 kms southwest of Luang Prabang town centre 、。。
