Just wanna warn all visa applicants that the form needs to be filled up by yourself and NOT by any agents, otherwise it will be rejected . I have seen this problem with my own eyes .17 /4/18 cheers 😁

Very good. Get 1000 THB and 2 photos with white background and get visa on the next day. Convenient and cheaper than getting visa in Europe.

Excellent service! They really cleaned up the process.

Went there 6:30am anticipating a large amount of people like last time, only to find about 10 people waiting when it opened.

Staff were also very courteous and friendly, I spent 10-15 minutes for both application and pick-up on the next working day.

Bear in mind that they also changed the application form, so better to pick one up at the Consulate (the form is free, so watch out for people selling it outside for THB100) and fill it out there.

As almost always with places run by people who work for the government the service could be improved a lot. The information on their website is outdated and incorrect. The same can be said about the posters hanging on the walls in the courtyard where people are queuing to apply for visa. There should be somebody who helped people make sure they have the right papers ready to apply for visa while they are waiting in the queue anyway. This would take away a of frustration from people and make everything go a lot more smoothly. The public toilets that are available for people who wait are a disgusting, filthy and dirty. This is bringing shame on the Thai people. But it has to be said that the people who work there are generally nice and friendly. It seams to be a clear lack of management. (in the Thai government you often don't get a position because you are the most qualified).

Make sure to check your visa before leaving. If something goes wrong with your visa, even though its the staff's fault, they wont take responsibility of it and will make you go back to square one.

I arrived there on a Thursday morning at 9am, the next day (Friday) was a Thailand holiday. Literally no one in front of me. Walked in, gave my form and passport and 1 minute later walked out. Had to wait till Monday for pickup due to the holiday on Friday and was in and out again under 5 minutes. Best service ever. No problems and no questions :-) VERY IMPORTANT -> Make sure you skip all the scammers/offering their services outside!!!

Avoid Monday and Thursday the place is full of tour group people. Up to 300 - 400 people arriving from 7am onwards. Just finished visa submission this morning looks like tour group switched days Thursday to Wednesday due to public holiday on Friday. Worth while checking the consulate web page for public holidays before you go.

Make sure you have a local SIM card and a Thai-speaking contact on stand-by if you're applying for a work or education visa as the officials may require additional information (there's a lady outside the Consulate selling SIM cards and top-up for just over 100THB).

TONS of people, but overall a smooth procedure and patient, friendly staff.

Make sure you bring water with you and something to pass the time. There are a gargamillion people applying for visa, a good opportunity to make new friendships and exchange useful informations. You will get a number and when you pick up your passport on the next day, it will be in order of the numbers. I arrived 1330pm, had number 770 and picked up my passport at 1700 pm.

Sure, we like to complain when we have to stand in line and stuff but besides taking up a lot of time everything always went smooth (even though they change "the system" every other month) and staff was always happy to help out.

Usally a easy process. I have always found sufficient help here just be aware of some of the scammers out front that have nothing to do with the Thai consulate inside.

We arrived there around 8.45 and there was barely a queue. We were done in less than half an hour including the time we needed to fill out the form. The staff was very helpful and until end of February the single entry tourist visa is for free. Check embassy website for more details!

Normally I live in Chiang Mai but my wife had to come here to the Thai consulate to get a Visa.

Once inside the actual grounds of the consulate the staff there was very helpful. Very knowledgeable and very skilled at helping us to arrange the paperwork that we needed. The lines were extremely long in the morning. Over a hundred fifty people there. A lot of people in the line especially the non-thai foreigners were extremely aggressive about their places in line. But the Thai staff outside at the tables helping people to fill out the forms and the Thai stuff inside were extremely professional and helpful. The staff speak Thai and English (likely more also) and the staff had no problems conducting business in English and Thai.

Even the people who are working The copier and the little photo shop area we're just very friendly and helpful and at no time did I feel like I was "dealing with a difficult bureaucracy" or anything like that.

I would recommend if you are going to get a Visa here prepare your paperwork well in advance come very early and it's going to take some time.

There are a lot of people outside the gate on the street who are offering all sorts of things and the advice I got before coming here was to ignore all of that and just go straight into the consulate and that's how I worked it.

Inside the consulate area there are signs that say use outside agents at your own risk and I felt it was risky so I just dealt straight with the Thai government, and I'm glad I did.

Please note that when they're going to do your visa they take your passport so make sure that you go to the copy place inside the consulate up the stairs to the left and get a copy of your Laos tourist visa entry page for your own use in town.
