I am giving the stars to the waterfall, not to the overpriced resort! Stay overnight in Pakse at a budget price, and rent a motorbike to come here.

Functional place if you need to spend the night but try to avoid it.
The waterfall is probably the biggest we have seen in laos, but other places are way more beautiful and charming.
The whole atmosphere of the place smells to tourist trap. It has no charme, during the day it is crowded with Chinese tourist and people doing the zip lining. The restaurant is very avarage and in the evening there was a lap group of people there listening to super loud music - we couldn't even hear our own voices.
The place seems to be run by locals, only two people of the staff spoke English (the waiters none). The window in our room wouldn't close properly and it was freezing in this place. We told the guy behind the reception and he sent a handyman who gave up quickly after he couldn't fix the problem with just banging at the window. They were nice enough though to let us change the room.
prices are much higher than in the rest of the bolaven plateau.
We wanted to go hiking and told them via email in advance. But when we showed up they said that it is probably not possible because the guide hurt his foot and might not be able to walk the next day. So we said we will check the next day if it is really possible or not. The next day they had all forgotten about our request and told us no it wasn't possible. They then wanted to draw us a map how to trek to the other waterfall on our own after the other receptionist had told us the day before not to go off on our own because it was very dangerous. We then told them we wanted to check out and find some place to hike somewhere else. They then only refunded us half of the second night.
I know that I am just listing small complaints here But they summed up to a totally bad experience for us - the only place in Laos where we really did not feel welcome at all.

Stunning view but this is the only positive point. Rooms are not clean at all, prices are expensive, quality/price is not good compared to other places. Restaurant is expensive and food is not that good. Very disappointed, this is not a resort

No point in visiting during the rainy season as nothing is visible. They should tell you when you pay that the falls are obscured by fog rather than just taking your money. Con job imo

Reasonable sized cabins that blend in with the forest. Great views of the waterfall. Food is good and well priced. Have zip line across valley and waterfall. Treking not recommended in rainny season as tracks very slippery.

Resort facing the famous and beautiful waterfall. Overall the place is good and worth visiting. Not many options on food if you are putting up a night here. There is a fire place for you to sit and have conversation with friends.

Amazing location with awesome views but service and food is average. Always that little short of good.
