The price is ok and the room was reasonably clean. But if you want to buy bus ticket please walk out to the street to get it.. Its cost 5000 kip more for the bus to vang vieng. The lady at the reception is not honest about it.

The price is ok and the room are reasonably clean. But if you want to buy bus ticket please walk out to the street to get it.. It cost 5000 kip more for the bus to vang vieng. The lady at the reception is not honest about it.

Very nice guesthouse. Much better quality than most of budget accommodations in the area. Very flexible service, no problem with additional bad in the room at small fee. Worth the money.

Clean, safe, beautiful marble and wood floors, excellent views. Very affordable. Unfortunately too affordable, as it doesn't keep out loud guests who don't understand they're sharing the space with other people. WiFi only works from bottom floor. When they say "room with balcony" they mean room with the closest balcony access, not a room with its own private balcony. Everyone can access the balcony, and smoke on it, which doesn't make being next to the balcony a good thing. Still amazing for the price.

Soupaphone is like an abusive relationship that you know you should leave, but just can't quite bring yourself to

Cons:
* No Wifi above the ground floor
* Staff seem actively hostile to having people stay in their hotel
* When my wife fell down their wet, unsafe stairs and broke her foot their first response was: "We are charging you 50,000 kip for the extra pillows to elevate her leg"
* Signs stuck on every surface of the hotel "No guests. No durians. No squid. No late checkout." - Just creates a really weird, creepy, hostile atmosphere.

Pros:
* Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated
* The ones with a window on to the balcony have a nice view of Vientiane
* Price is pretty reasonable ($22 US)

It's really obvious that the staff hate working there, hate their guests and hate that this is what they do for a living. If you can live with the terrible service, lack of Wifi and unsafe stairs it's in a great location and some of the rooms are quite nice.

Best Tip: Get a room on the 4th floor with a view of the two Temples.
