  We've just spent 4 weeks as unsponsored volunteers at Souphanouvong University. It's only 10 years old with a strategic vision to work towards becoming a world standard tertiary learning centre. The spacious main campus is 9km from Luang Prabang's UNESCO World Heritage city centre. We found the teaching staff and the students very engaging and ever so keen to practise their English. We were certainly made to feel very welcome indeed. The University could do with all the help it can get. We liked it so much that we'll be going back next year, and likely again after that.
