This hostel has a great location. From there you can reach the main tourist attractions on foot.

The place is simple, the guy in the reception was not so friendly, the room was small and not really clean. The bathrooms were working well, but weren't that good.
The kitchen was very dirty and my girlfriend saw a rat there.
Bus tickets were also more expensive than some agencies.

Because of these things, I do not recommend this place.

We stayed just one night at Mixay Paradise Guesthouse. It comes rather as a hotel. Professional staff, good service. The room was smaller compared to other guest houses we had at the same price. But everything clean. The location is good if you want to stay close to the nightlife of Vientiane.

Recently I was in Vientiane city for first time
And looking for some budget hotel or guest house.
After 1 hours search finally came across to Mixay guesthouse.
I felt happy to see that tariff was really low
Clean and tidy rooms with A/c and WiFi.
Also the place in the heart of the city.
I enjoyed my stay there
I definitely recommend this place for the person who is looking the cheap and best option

The Mixay Guesthouse’s exchange rate is too high for the guests (8500 Kip = 1 USD), other there is some dirt on the blankets on the bed.

I spent 2 nights here in 2 different room and They both had bed bugs.
The room and price are good, but sadly there are too many bed bugs in this guest house.

I wish I could give 0 stars, this guesthouse was so bad. Had bed bugs and stuff gave no money back. If you don’t want to get bites, stay away from there!!!

Nice and economical place, rooms are ok but it's located near to Mekong river, the owner is very nice and helpful, it's a good place in the area for the money you pay.

Sadly, this place has turned into a house of horrors. The ceiling had terrible water damage with water leaking from it and the bed was dirty and full of bedbugs.

I asked the staff if they had a room without bugs and they offered to "clean" the room. I waited about 30 minutes and the staff had fumigated the room with industrial strength pesticide which permeated the room with an awful smell. I had had enough and found another hotel.

It's beyond reason that this guesthouse is still open.

Money STOLEN from my bags while in the shower. Cleaner/hotel staff must have been watching for me when I left the room. The whole guest house is falling apart but it is very cheap.

Would not stay here, room was terrible, the owner very rude and the washing came back soaking wet, mixed with other clothes and smelt worse, and she still demanded money for it!! Avoid

Not great but good value for the price, the staff spoke basic English, was friendly and trying to keep everything clean all the time. We stayed in a double room with fan, which was pretty small, but ok for us. The location is also very good, it's just few steps from the mekong river, has a lot of restaurants and food stalls around! It's located in a side street so I was relatively quite at night. The basic breakfast was delicious :)

I would not stay here again..
We found our twin room a little bit dirty (hairs on bedsheets, floor was clean though). The public restrooms are rather not clean but also not too dirty, just acceptable for a quick shower with your eyes closed. One morning the water did not work.
In our room were no clothing racks or something where you could hang your wet towel.
The included breakfast & coffee was okay, you can choose between 3 options and breakfast is available from 7-10.

Our room and shared bathroom was okay, but very worn. The water heater was only working in 1 of 2 showers on our floor and of course the lock was broken in the one warm shower. Breakfast was a bit boring and the staff was not smiling or helpful. The staircase had one loose step which was very uncomfortable. Cleanliness was as rated. Price seemed okay if the above issues not been there. Recommendable if you just need a place to crash for 1 night.
