I went for the batik class and had a great time with Seng and Lulu. Only when I tried my hand on printing the batik on the cloth, did I really how much skill is needed to create these fabric. After the class, the cloth can be made into bags or other products! I also found that the fabric from the shop are much cheaper from other stores on the main road. Strongly recommended
Beautiful hand made items. Family owned by Xeng and Lulu, and their little boy Vee. Wonderful people and they will custom make items and do minor tailoring too if they can. Lulu speaks english extremely well. Stop and have a look.
Wonderful small store on the Luang Prabang peninsula 100 feet from Wat Xieng Thong. Lulu and Xeng speak conversational English and are great to talk to about Laos, the Hmong and life in Luang Prabang. They sell lovely batik and embroidered cloths, bags, hangings, water bottle carriers, pillows and other items. The best thing to do there is to spend 1-2 hours learning to batik on hemp or other cloth, which they will dye in natural indigo for you. They are wonderful with children and adults.
Guess what my morning walk found? Beautiful Artisan hemp and embroidery shop. This artistic couple speak English well.
Good Hmong fabric shop in Luang Prabang. The owner speaks english very well.
